2009 Tax Credit
Posted Friday, March 6, at 9:51 AM Here is a breakdown of the new tax credit vs. the old one. The new one is now $8000 and does not have to be repaid if the buyer lives there for a minimum of three years. 2008 Vs. 2009...
Final Real Estate numbers for 2008 According to the MLS (multiple listing service) the final 2008 numbers for Bedford Co. residential sales are a little down from 2007. In fact we are lower than 2004. Anyone surprised? Keep in mind these numbers only reflect residential homes and not farms, just land, multifamily, or commercial property. They also do not reflect homes sold privately or homes sold through a non Realtor real estate company. As for the numbers:...
I feel like I am stealing gas! This blog is entirely tongue and cheek just so you know. I filled up this morning and it cost less than $30 dollars. It cost me over $70 a few months ago. It feels good to only pay $30 now. I am just curios about something though...when gas was sky high everyone blamed George Bush, but now that it is much lower I have not heard any one saying it is to his credit. ...
Did foreclosures change the election? This was an interesting article that I thought I would share.

Social Networking Sites...not just for the kids Do you use social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Tagged, or Linkedin just to name a few? I have joined a few and I like Facebook the best. I admit that I am overwhelmed with everything on MySpace and for some reason I can not accept the email verification. On Facebook I have heard from many old friends that I have not seen or talked to in years. I feel it is also a great business tool. All the exposure grows exponentially when the networking begins. So, do you like them?...
Clarification of a news story... I was sitting at home watching channel 4 news last night and it was reported that ERA Pacesetters (real estate firm) in Nashville has closed it's doors. The company was now closed and 250 EMPLOYEES had lost their jobs. I already knew of the office closing so that was not a shock but 250 employees did not lose their job. ...
First Time Home Buyers Get $7500 Tax Credit If you are a first time home buyer and you bought or buy a house between April 9,2008 and July 1 2009 then you are eligible to receive a $7500 tax credit. This is part of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. This is a tax credit which means it directly reduces what you owe or is added to what you get back. There are income limitations that gradually reduce the tax credit for higher incomes. For a full credit the income limit is $75,000 single and $150,000 married...
Let's talk Cascade football... Can Cascade go deep in to the playoffs? Will the entire county get behind this team? What do you think? This is exciting for me as a past player and a fan. We have won some close games this year which should help in the playoffs, but everybody starts fresh and everybody is good. I hope a tough region will help us...
There are still good samaritans out there It is refreshing to know that in our world of decreasing morals and values that there are still good people out there. My wife and I recently moved to Bell Buckle (yes we moved again) and two days later we were in the hospital having our third child. While we were there someone came over and mowed our over grown and neglected yard. It was trimmed and all. I still do not know who it was but my family and I are very appreciative. I sure feel good about my new neighborhood...
Are We Really in a Housing Crisis? I thought this video made alot of since, but of course I sell real estate so I will let you judge for yourself.

Will you be my girlfriend? Check Yes or No WOW! We have come a long way from those days. Remember when asking a girl or guy to go out was so hard that you were too nervous to ask him or her to their face. We just wrote a note. (At least when we were young) When you got older you had to ask her/him to her/his face or at least call and ask on the phone. ...
The Dreaded Class Reunion My 15 year class reunion is coming up soon, and I am very much looking forward to it. Seriously.... I am. Why do some people dread it or avoid it all together? I am excited to see familiar faces that are not so familiar anymore. It will be nice to catch up...
What do you want to be when you grow up? As far back as I can remember I wanted to be four things in my life... A realtor(check), a teacher/coach(check), a pilot (no check), and a husband/father(check,check,check). I always wanted to be in real estate no matter what. I just love all aspects of it. ...
Trimming the Pounds...any advice? I have recently been trying to lose weight and get back in to better shape. I was a 3 sport athlete (I use the term athlete loosely) in high school and still participated in sports and activities in college. I was in pretty good shape. I have put on 70 to 75 lbs since my "playing days" ended...
Walk a Mile in My Shoes... I have been selling real estate for 10 years, and in that time my wife and I have moved several times to different homes. Now with two kids and one coming the idea of moving gets worse as we grow as a family. More stuff to move, more schedules to worry about, not enough help to move and watch the kids, and so on...
My Unwanted Squatters! Pardon if the spelling is wrong on Squatters, but my family moved in to a new house recently. We do not park in the garage(why would we do that?), but we do go in and out of the house through the garage. I am telling you this because we never use our front door. ...
I am writing today on a personal note. My office hosts a benefit auction every year to raise money for kids with Muscular Dystrophy. 100 % of the money raised is used to send these children to summer camp. The cost is about $625 per child and that gives these kids a chance to have a care free week swimming, fishing, boating, horse riding, etc. ...
Real Estate Mishaps... Let's have a little fun. I am curious about the most bizarre or weird thing that may have happened to you while selling or buying a home. Please do not use names but relate the story. I have a couple... Many years ago I went to show a house that was rented. ...
93% of Mortgages are Being Paid on Time I recently received this in a newsletter that I receive and thought it was news worthy. I certainly have not heard this stat on the evening news. It came from Jim Gibbs who runs the Career Institute in Murfreesboro. I know some areas are being affected more than others, and I do focus on our area, but if we look at the big picture then maybe it is not as bad as it seems...
Greetings from Orlando,FL... I am blogging this afternoon from sunny Orlando, although the clouds are rolling in. Why am I here? Not to see Mickey, but rather to train and be educated about the real estate industry. I am at the international business conference for my particular real estate franchise. I come every year because I feel the continued training and networking is vital to my business. I think continuing to learn is vital to any business...
