Real Estate Shows...Do you like them?Posted Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at 2:55 PM
I find myself very entertained by the multiple real estate shows on television. My personal favorites are Flip This House and The Real Estate Pros. Of course there are many others as well, be it first time buyer programs or empty- nesters downsizing. It may be a program about how to get a house ready to put on the market. I even enjoy watching the local ads with info about the available homes. I guess I like them all...

Hey, where do you come from? Just kidding. Welcome.
we have a daughter who watches those shows with much more intensity than she would ever study a book. I have only seen a few, so I hope they are giving good common sense.
What do yo think?
Most of the shows do seem to give common sense advice. I think most of them help educate the general public about the process of buying or selling a home. The ones that focus on "flipping" are the ones that seem a bit misleading. I think people watch those shows and feel like they can jump in, buy property and make alot of money. I am afraid some probably do not fare so well. Thanks for the welcome...I am glad to be on board.
Flipping is a lot harder than they make it out to be especially with all the problems associated with home loans in todays market. Everything is so expensive and unless you have the skill to do the work yourself, I don't know how you make much money. Eventually you may come out ahead if you can keep your head above water.
I do like the shows though and I know people who can walk in a house and give it a totally different vision from what I see.
I graduated with your brother Rodney in 1992 and I think you are doing a wonderful job. Do you still help out on the farm?
