Real Estate Mishaps...

Let's have a little fun. I am curious about the most bizarre or weird thing that may have happened to you while selling or buying a home. Please do not use names but relate the story. I have a couple...
Many years ago I went to show a house that was rented. I had a buyer that was looking for a home so we went to see this property. The house was old and needed a little work, but was otherwise ok. As I went to open the door to what appeared to be a bedroom I saw feathers flying all around. I opened the door to a room full of chickens. They were everywhere and completely filled the room. My buyers decided to look at something else after that.
Another story that I enjoyed hearing from a fellow agent was quite hilarious. I hope I get the details correct. She went to show a house that she had listed. It was also rented so she knocked on the door. A man answered holding a towel around his waste. When she asked to show the house he waved them in as his towel dropped to the floor. It made for a very awkward moment I am sure. I am not sure if she sold that one.
I am looking for funny if you have one. Realtors help me with this one... Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

We had a surprise when we sold our commercial property in Wartrace. It was a nice surprise.
The buyers brought me, my wife and our daughter a closing gift. Not just one gift, but one for each of us. And not just any gift. They were special orders for our own individual interests.
Now I have bought and sold a number of properties, but that was a real first.
They have since become our neighbors as well, so we are blessed to have them in the community.
