I feel like I am stealing gas!

This blog is entirely tongue and cheek just so you know. I filled up this morning and it cost less than $30 dollars. It cost me over $70 a few months ago. It feels good to only pay $30 now. I am just curios about something though...when gas was sky high everyone blamed George Bush, but now that it is much lower I have not heard any one saying it is to his credit. I do not feel he was to blame nor do I feel he deserves the credit. It just seems that we always look for someone to blame but rarely give credit.

I do not think we could give Bush credit for the prices of gas going down unless we give him credit for the economy being in the toilet. Right now the two are going hand in hand. So I am thinking he probably wouldn't want the credit.

But I too am loving it ..it cost me 12.00 to fill up yesterday.

Yeah, its easier for uneducated minds to blame one person for all the problems that we have been facing when in reality there are many factors that causes such issues and many people are involved in those factors.

Yep, I have enjoyed the lower gas prices, especially since I have to travel all over middle tennessee.

I fear, however, that the lower prices will return to bite us all in the rear. We MUST wean ourselves off of foreign oil and begin to look toward the future in terms of domestic oil production and alternative fuel sources.

I have resented the price spikes due to demand from developing nations such as China and India. If we drill it ,we use it, and reap the gain from any exports.

Gottago . . . that was Paris Hilton's energy policy plan also.

Who knew she was so smart? :-P

you cannot blame just one person. A presdient is not the only one to blame.

TWELVE DOLLARS?!? What are you driving, a golf cart? That's awesome!

I know what you mean about feeling like you stole the gas. I was just telling the guy that I carpool with last week that it almost feels like I was doing something illegal. A few months ago I was spending over $100 a week to drive back and forth to Franklin, but now we're carpooling and I spend $25 every six workdays. It almost feels as if I've gotten a HUGE raise.

LOL No Thom I am driving one of those nasty foreign cars with a 10 gallon tank (I wasn't quite empty when I filled it ) And BTW I am getting about 46.5 MPG in this nasty little foreign car, around town :>)

It may be a foreign car but it's a dang good one I intend on driving it til the wheels fall off :>)

Dianatn - There's nothing wrong with driving a foreign car. Most "American" cars are made out of foreign parts anyway. And there are a lot of "foreign" cars that are made right here in Tennessee. Although if you're driving one that gets 46.5 miles to the gallon, it's probably not one of those made locally. I would say driving a car like that is a rather smart move, regardless of where it was made.

One of the Volkswagen Jettas gets around 45 MPG . . . I wonder if they will be made at the new VW facility in Chattanooga? I have always like the VW line of vehicles except for the Beetle.

No doubt man. I feel like a thief too! It makes me want to vacation and we really don't have anywhere to even go. Ha! Your right about the Bush thing too.

If gas is cheaper than it has been in several years, why then did duck river electric tack on $24 in fuel surcharges? Especially since its hydroelectric.

It must cost more to have the water flowing to turn the generators. :-)
