Happy first day of spring!

Hyacinth in my yard, planted by the former owners of the house.
I'm so excited that it's finally springtime - spring is my favorite time of year. The weather is usually really nice, not too warm and not too cold and a bit rainy. I like being able to leave my house without a heavy jacket, and also without worrying about how hot it will get.

I've been seeing a lot of flowers blooming everywhere, that's always fun - and one of the things I really like about living in TN, when I still lived at home in CT we had to wait a long time until the flowers started blooming (one year it snowed on April 29th, to give you an idea of how ling it can stay cold there).

My husband and I have been plotting where we will be planting a garden. We've also been deciding what to plant. I really HATE tomatoes but I want to try the trick that someone gave at the garden club meeting - to dry out some grape tomatoes then plant them. I bought some grape tomatoes at Publix this week (they were on sale), it was the first time I'd ever bought tomatoes in my life...My husband is happy though because he loves tomatoes, the idea of fresh ones for sauces and salsa is really appealing to him. I also want to plant a bunch of flowers, then I can get fresh cuts of flowers to bring to work for my desk - anything to make the office look nicer.

I'm also excited about spring because it brings us (my husband and I) a few steps closer to our big trip this summer - but more on that in a later post.

I like spring except for the volatile weather and allergies... lol

I prefer Fall, minus the dying trees!

I love fall, too - when the leaves change is my favorite. I also really miss living in New England in the fall that's when it's prettiest.

Thankfully, I've not had allergy problems, but I was told that everyone in TN gets them eventually - I'm hoping I don't.

Hello Spring!

It's my favorite time of the year, too! It feels like everything gets a new life, and re-energized.

After a long HOT summer, I welcome Fall just as much as I welcome Spring.

Have any of you taken a Fall drive through the Smokies? It is beautiful!
