Guerrilla Gardening

I recently read about something on Whip-up that sounded pretty neat - guerrilla gardening. The basic idea is that you pretty up neglected public spaces. There's a website that explains it. Granted most of the people who've posted to that site are in Europe, but I saw there there were some US people who posted. I guess I just like the idea of anonymously making a public space prettier - kind of like the idea behind found art.
Oh, and on a more personal note, in case you were wondering why I've been so quiet the last couple weeks - I went to visit my mom in Connecticut for two weeks and she doesn't have internet (I thought she did as I had planned on posting from there). Hey Chantal... why don't we get our knitting needles out, and randomly do this around town, just for kicks: http://redshirtknitting.com/?page_id=271
ROFLMBO!!!
But yeah, I'd kinda like to do some random gardening around town. I wouldn't know where to start, tho. Would you be serious in doing it?
Neat idea Chantal. The Garden Club is looking at doing a garden in the Senior Citizens Center and/or a nursing home.
By the way, we miss you and hubby. This Friday again at Hong Kong.
Would we need to get permission from the city or land owner before we prettied up a spot?
craftin_mom - I would totally be up for some sort of guerrilla gardening plans. I also like the tree sweater idea but I knit so slowly that I would get caught doing that!
Steve - We've been wanting to come by the gardening meetings but the last couple have fallen on Fridays where we couldn't make it. I'm hoping to make it this week. I think in theory we should get permission to pretty up a spot, but I think the point of the guerrilla gardeners is that it's just done on the fly.

Ya know... the Fly Building would be a great place to start! Ha ha!
