Leaving on a jet plane

In a couple days I'm leaving for my summer vacation. I'm really really excited about it. I'm first heading to Paris to meet up with my husband - he's been there for a few weeks doing research on his latest book. We'll be there about a week and then we're taking an overnight train to Berlin. I'm very excited to see Berlin. I've been re-reading my Berlin guidebook over and over, I think I'm starting to wear out the pages.
So, this was just to let you guys know that I'll be out of the loop for a few weeks. But, I promise to post some pictures when I get back. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

That is so not fair . . . I want to go!!
Hope you have fun . . . while we sit here and work. :-(
I'm hoping the weather there holds up - Jeremy said it's been pretty cold. The colder weather alone, will make it a good trip.
HAVE A GREAT TIME!! I AM SO THRILLED FOR YOU!
Thanks.
Enjoy your trip!
As I recall, the weather in that part of the world is about six weeks behind us.
Dress for spring weather (with all its variability) and you'll be fine.
Comfort is a MUST!
Even the style-concious Parisians would wince if someone were seeing the sights with aching legs, blistered feet, chills, sunburn and other torments.
(I found out the hard way -especially about wearing good walking shoes.
No wonder Napoleon's armies traveled on their stomachs - or on horseback.)
You'll know all that from your previous vacations but, sometimes, the many good things about a trip make us forget to prepare for the worst.
May you come back to us with wonderful memories and a future Amazon best seller.
Oh yeah, make sure and take lots of pictures. I love seeing pictures of foreign places!!!
quantumcat - I'm bringing the most comfy shoes I own, they're ugly but comfortable for lots of walking...This is the first time I've been packing to go somewhere and have plenty of room leftover in my suitcase. Since we can do landry there, I'm trying not to over pack.
jaxspike - don't worry, there will be lots and lots of pictures.
Enjoy! I am excited for you... We are all wishing you safe travels ;)
Have a FANTASTIC trip!! I can't wait to see the pictures!!
Thank you, Darrick and Cheryl.
When I visited Paris it was in November. I went to the Eiffel Tower just before sunset & was at the very top when dusk set in & all of the city lights came on. It was breathtaking. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did.
