I have a question for you guys - since you were all really helpful in helping me find a guy to do my lawn this past summer, maybe you'll also be able to recommend someone for a couple other projects I have in mind. I was thinking of calling some of the people who have put out ads but I thought if any of you could recommend someone that you knew did good work, that might be a better place to start -

1. I want to paint a couple of the rooms in my house. I'm leaning towards just doing it myself but I thought I would get an estimate in case it's cheaper than I think (which it probably isn't).

2. Do you know of a good contractor? We're thinking of maybe adding on to the house - my mom is thinking of moving down here and we'd like her to have an in-law apartment type thing. Again, we're only looking at estimates right now, but it's good to know who to call in these sorts of situations.

See, if I were still living in CT, none of this would be a problem because my dad is a contractor so he would just do all the work for me. I've been trying to get him to come visit so he could help me do some of the smaller projects around the house. He wouldn't be able to help so much with bigger projects - he's much too old for that sort of thing, but he'd also know others that could help.

Tom Loso out of Normandy built our house, and he did a pretty good job.

Rick Traxler...just finished a front porch for me. He had added onto a metal building for me during the summer. He does great work for a reasonable price. He shows up, when he says he is going to show up and does not hit me up for a "draw" before the job is done...he did need me to pay for some materials, of which he did not have an account with that supplier.

I have been very pleased with his work.

I just read your blog and I'm sure you've already found someone by now. But if not Eric Perryman does a great job on home additions. He has done several add-ons and home repairs. If you would like to contact him his number is 931-224-5918 or 931-294-5932.
