I thought I would post to invite anyone who's interested to join our small group on Sunday afternoon. We'll be meeting at 3:00pm at the McDonalds (we wanted an informal, kid friendly place for our first meeting). We will be talking about some projects that we want to do, organizations that we want to donate to, and we will also be talking about other places that we can meet. I hope to see some more people there. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Hi - Will try to make it to the meeting Sunday and see you then. This is interesting.
I hope you had a large turnout and a productive meeting. Sounds like a great idea, I just wish I were able to sew or whatever it is that you will be doing.
memyselfi - It wasn't a big turn out but I think that the people who did come were really motivated.
I am willing to teach people interested in learning to knit or crochet if you would like to come! We have some very easy patterns for beginners.

How hard is it to teach a 40 something severely left hander that really would love to learn how to crochet?
I say go for it!! I didn't pick up a crochet needle until two years ago, I just finished an afghan last week and am working on some tobaggans for some students!!
Don't be afraid to try!! I had never even touched a violin until September and I can almost play the entire Ode to Joy already!
Learning new stuff is the key to living and keeping a sound mind. Not just memorizing, but truly learning how to do something new!
I want to learn how. My grandmother tried several years ago to teach me but she became very frustrated and said I couldn't do it left handed so I gave up on it. Maybe there is someone out there than can teach me.
ontheoutside - I'm left handed and I crochet. However, I learned to crochet (and knit) right handed. I would be up for trying to teach you as well.
That sounds great cfrich. I'll watch your blog for a future meeting date and time and try to make it. Thanks for the offer.
I have a great book at home that will show "lefties" how to knit and crochet. I'll bring it at next meeting. Come and join us - the more the merrier!!!
