digital recorders?Posted Monday, November 23, 2009, at 5:10 PM
Does anyone have any recommendations on digital recorders? Like the flip camera? Jeremy and I are going on a trip in the spring and I think I'd like to video some of it. My digital camera can also record movies, but I wanted to know if any of you had any experiences with digital recorders.

I bought a flip to make how to videos at work. The quality of the audio and video are great. The one I got was standard definition, so I can only imagine how much better the HD version is.
Thanks, Nathan. I was hoping someone on here had tried one.
My daughter has a flip video. It is super easy to use and like Nathan said, the quality of the audio and video are great. We have the standard definition flip too. There is a 60 minute recording limit on ours. (I'm not sure if I'd want to record anything longer than that anyway!)
I have used the standard definition flip and am currently using an Aiptek ISDV2.4 it is not an HD camera but shoots like one. The only drawback is it picks up audio so well that you can hear buttons being pushed and the operator breathing! Something else that is surprisingly efficient is the disposable "one time use" digital camcorders. Often sold at CVS and Rite Aid. I think I may have seen them at Walgreens and Walmart as well. These units CAN be used over and over again, with a simple "hack" available on youtube. I have done it several times, and it even allows you to modify some of the camera options like resolution, record times, and hue/saturation etc.
