Did You Know?

Posted Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at 10:13 PM

Did you know………???

Hillary was a Republican until sometime in college. A Goldwater Girl no less as a senior in high school?

Howard Dean was raised Republican and "switched" in college?

Barack Obama was an adherent of Islam through several years of childhood?

Blacks could vote for decades before women could?

Approximately 800 super delegates are allowed to vote TWICE in the Democratic Primary. These are not just elected officials but Party hacks such as Donna Brazile, Terry McCauliff, Harold Ickes, et al, who have never been elected to anything. These people to a man (or woman), are among the elite in every way. So much for "every vote must count," but only once, not twice like the elite of the Party. And this is the Party of the "little people!"..??? The math works out to about 10,000 "little people" votes to elect one delegate, yet these brilliant (sic) wonderful folks are the equal of 10,000 "little people" under the rules of the Democratic Party.

Ergo, the three top Democrats consist of two former Republicans and a former Muslim who is also of African ancestry. That's diversity in action.

As to those who favor a female candidate, I agree we are past ready for a woman President. If such was questionable before, I think the question was settled by Margaret Thatcher with a nod to Golda Meir and Indira Gandhi and others. I just don't think Hillary is in the company of these leaders. Not by a long shot.

I use the politically correct term "elite" though I am loathe to do so. A perfectly good word in the English language, uppity, is disappearing from the language due to some idiot deciding it is a pejorative term. They assume if used it is being applied to successful blacks. I find no where in the lexicon or literature whereby such is the case.

I bet half of her ancestors were men.

HAHAHAHA God, I bet there are a few people that would argue with that too!

They shouldn't talk so much about Hillary being female, either.

I bet half of her ancestors were men.

not someone trying to be the first woman president or someone trying to be the first black president( and that really burns my butt when they say that about Obami, HIS MOM WAS WHITE). Posted by redcat00 on Wed, Jun 4, 2008, at 6:45 PM

Well they said the same thing about Bill Clinton when he was president, (The first black president) and both his parents were white.

Most jobs in the private sector require you to be there for 5 years before you are entitled to retirement benefits. I still don't understand why anyone can "serve" in office for 2,4,6, years and get retirement benefits. I would go for zero years cap and then let them live like everyone else.

I feel we should not pay our President or pay the good folks who run for Congress or Senate. In the beginning it was hard working men who did the job not because of the pay but because it was the right thing to do to start our great country.Washington did not want the job as President, but he took it and the second time around he really did not want it, but took the job anyway.I feel if we stop letting them us their millions to win an election and stop the benifits that goes along with the job; maybe someone who really cares would have a chance to be elected, not someone trying to be the first woman president or someone trying to be the first black president( and that really burns my butt when they say that about Obami, HIS MOM WAS WHITE).

I feel we should put a cap on the pay for these folks to lets say 20 years, lets see if they can live like the regular folks that they are soppose to be working for.

Picking from these 3 is like asking a vegetarian if he/she would like steak, pork, or chicken.

Man I couldn't have said that better myself!! Hope you don't mind if I use that line when describing my own opinion of the three :)

Ha! That "Roosevelt" image was cute. However, I'd put Reagan on it instead. This country needs some new Reaganomics, lol!

Amen,craftin_mom!

Let the guys that have been running things try the tofu equivalents for a while.

They could get used to a no cholesterol diet easier than vegans could tolerate eating meat.

I don't think it's about giving the voters what they can stomach.

It's about clearing out the larder before the contents expire.

We're just supposed to swallow whatever we're given-not demand what we've paid for.

If we're stuck with candidates that can't or won't meet today's needs and listen to today's voters, why confine ourselves to living politicians?

We might as well vote for someone deceased and save ourselves the cost of Secret Service and retirement perks.

This isn't my idea. Check out this link: http://images.cafepress.com/jitcrunch.as...

I'd rather have some dead presidents in my pocket than breathing candidates in the pocket of some power broker.

I'm not seeing viable choices anyway.

Let's try a non-viable alternative.

Is there anything that we, as U.S. citizens can do to get new candidates for this election? I, personally, don't like any of these 3 stooges.

Picking from these 3 is like asking a vegetarian if he/she would like steak, pork, or chicken.

Hmm, yes we're way passed ready to have a woman president, or a black president... but we are also WAY PAST ready to be done with this Republican president... and his up and coming shadow...

Hopefully not too much longer ;)
