Tenor of the election

Posted Sunday, June 8, 2008, at 7:45 PM

Now that the Primaries are essentially over, we should soon learn the tenor of the General Election. Phew!! Sure is a long way until November!

This tenor is probably known or suspected by most informed folks, but surprises are always possible. Inevitable even. Mr. B. Hussein Obama will have the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head for the rest of the way. He will be subjected to shots from the Republicans and perhaps, the surrogates of one Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton. There are many hot rumors out there, some from credible sources which aver a big bomb, fugitively speaking, is likely to drop on Obama. To have to look over both shoulders makes for a very tense existence but since Mrs. Clinton did not quit and throw her delegates to Obama, he must watch his own camp closely. I wonder why she did her "resignation" as she did?

We should be afraid of every Bush, Rice, Cheney, and Rumsfield too huh, for launching and defending an illegal war that has claimed more lives than any terrorist group in the middle east.

Anyone notice in the Article's of Impeachment blog Thom wrote, where House Member Dennis Kucinich provided proof that OUR GOVERNMENT gave funds to THREE separate terrorist groups belonging to Al Qaeda IN IRAQ (during the war)... Now, someone tell me this, how on earth are you going to fight "terrorism" when you are FUNDING their very efforts? Sounds to me, Bush, Cheney, Rice, and Rumsfield are a bit more terrorist related than Hussein or Obama...

hello Richard,

Thank you for your response. Your quotation attributed to me was entirely correct - the description used did contain international. Although the two men you cited may, in fact, have traveled outside U.S. borders, I believe it would stretch the imagination to refer to them as "international bombing terrorist(s)".

Otherwise, your point is well taken and, I submit, further supports the very poition established in my original commentary!

When was the last time you saw news reports of an anti U.S., international bombing terrorist named James Jones, Jr., John Wilson, III, William Smith, Bobby Joe, Billy Ray, Mary Jane, etc?

-- Posted by garhawk on Mon, Jun 9, 2008, at 3:31 PM

Well, I do remember a terrorist named Timothy McVeigh, and another named Eric Rudolph, who claimed to be a Christian. Those aren't exactly muslim names, are they? I guess I should be skeptical or fearful of anyone named Timothy or Eric, as well as all Christians.

Agreed, Dianatn.

I am very fearful that if this man gets in power, particularly with a Dem. Congress that will do anything he asks.

Get ready to open up your wallets very wide.

No, I am sorry cfder that makes you a racist and a bigot :>)

I honestly think that his supporters are my biggest problem with him I can not imagine having to listen to them scream "Yes we can" for 4 years and faint at his feet.

Beautiful garhawk.

I dislike the man, not because of his name, race, or party, but his political inclinations. I do not like his proposed policies, nor his very short voting record in the Senate. He has the most liberal voting record there.

I am also uneasy by the company the man and his wife have kept over their political lives. If that is OK, can I be against the man for these reasons?

greetings all:

Concerning Mr. McClanahan's reference to the current democratic party's presidential canidate by initializing the man's first given name, then spelling out his second assigned handle, and his surname, posed no problem for me. It will not be a rattle in my head if, should he in future posts, refer to our President as G. Walker Bush or, G. W. Bush, or even George W. Bush. In either case, we know Mr. Bush's history and heritage. Approve or no, how can you make an enlightened decision if you are cowering in the darkness, refusing to allow in even the slightest ray of light?

Seems to me the man was making a point and it simply soared over several folk's heads.

When was the last time you saw news reports of an anti U.S., international bombing terrorist named James Jones, Jr., John Wilson, III, William Smith, Bobby Joe, Billy Ray, Mary Jane, etc?

Oh my, does me hear sabres rattling in the distance?

I'm certain that Carl would be just as quick to announce that an Ayoub Hussein Tariq al-Raman had saved a baby from a burning building, made the honor roll or started a clothing drive.

-- Posted by quantumcat on Mon, Jun 9, 2008, at 2:37 PM

Carl is using a scare tactic by constantly referring to Obama as B. Hussein Obama. I would hope that the readers are intelligent enough to realize that this is nothing more than a shady attempt to link Mr. Obama with terrorists or radical Islam. Whatever , it is a pathetic stab at trying to be cute.

How about the next time you write about the president, you refer to him as G. Walker Bush or refer to Senator McCain as J. Sidney McCain.

I will ask you the same questions 4 years from now and see what you think. You had better look at someone's past to help predict the future. The apple don't fall to far from the tree.

-- Posted by cordell on Mon, Jun 9, 2008, at 10:10 AM

No... People like you want us to be scared of his middle name. It doesn't concern me one bit. I look past the name, the skin color, and the religion to actually get to know what really matters, their character and integrity.

-- Posted by nascarfanatic on Mon, Jun 9, 2008, at 8:28 AM

I am glad someone has enough courage to write Mr. Obama's full name. Seems the main stream media wants to stay clear of the dreaded Hussein. It's funny they identify Mrs. Clinton as Hillary Rodham Clinton, and John Sidney McCain, but not Barrack Hussein Obama. What's in a name anyway? Is the main stream scared?

-- Posted by cordell on Mon, Jun 9, 2008, at 8:14 AM

I would bet Hillary is expecting Obama to implode somewhere along the way and she will 'save the party' on a white horse. IF so, Obama definitely needs to watch his behind.
