Cobb v Blanton VPosted Friday, October 31, 2008, at 12:42 PM
It was destined to happen. We have a candidate who has ridden into town and told us that we have a dishonest and incapable person representing us in the General Assembly. He has been there for 6 years and not a single citizen of Bedford and Lincoln Counties knew he was incompetent and much less than honorable!
If you read my "stuff" very often you know I predicted Mrs. Blanton would go further negative at the last minute. She has by radio ads and phone calls. In case you can't understand the group behind the phone calls, it sounds like mumbling at the end to me. What they are saying is MUMPAC which is the personal PAC on Jason Mumpower of Bristol who is the minority leader in the House. He has largely shaped the debate across Tennessee related to House races. I will not again outline the so called ethics complaint filed against Curt Cobb by a Lincoln County gadfly. Mrs. Blanton would have you believe this guy is a credible, upstanding citizen. Many in Lincoln County would argue that point. Unlike Mrs. Blanton many of us have known Curt throughout his political life and many also, throughout his natural life. If you think some guru in Bristol playing puppet master knows Curt better than you do, then you ought to have her. Remember, these are just charges. Any of us can go to the Sheriff and charge someone with just about anything. Such charges are meaningless until given legs by other than the one making the charges. Mrs. Blanton's ads would have you believe Curt is a crook who has no respect for the ethic regulations and laws of Tennessee. I recall a couple of weeks ago reading in the T-G a Barbara Blanton was convicted, not charged, with a violation of the "move over law." I don't know if there are 10 Barbara Blantons living or passing through Bedford Cty, but this act does not endear one to those who expect to have their public officials respect the laws of Tennessee. This from one, if the one it be, who admonishes each of us not to vote for one who has no respect for the laws. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |
Near lifelong resident of Bedford County. Will comment on the issues of the day in, hopefully a cogent and certainly an honest manner. Will propose discussions not usually fully addressed in the mainstream media.

Dear Mr. McClanahan:
For the life of me, it is beyond my comprehension why you continue to carry on in this manner.
After having been warned, even threatened, about your writings which lean to the right; admonished for your admonishments of some who lean leftward; and, even having been referenced as a Republican, here you are defending the good honor of a Democrat!
Sir, you must get yourself on a straight and narrow path. An old Navy scoundrel as yourself must know the importance of 'holding course'.
My word - next thing we know you'll be supporting the Republican candidate for the State Senate race, then can you imagine the confusion among your critics on this Board?
Garhawk.....Here I go, in my next installment.....Your ESP is so much more accurate than any other in the local blogasphere.
Sometimes it is impossible to follow the move over law because traffic is to heavy and it would cause another accident.
Friend of BCNH......The law recognizes such situations and exempts actions under these conditions from its strictures.
Dear Mr. McClanahan:
You must not wonder any longer - the confusion was complete!
garhawk,
Are you actually saying anything that holds any credibility? Didn't think so. Move along now.
