"Carl is more entertaining than his topics.
I would point out to you, Carl, that you do not put up anything. This space is provided by the Times Gazette, and they allow comments, as long as those comments remain within certain bounds (of decency, if not always civility.) As a matter of fact, I suspect they want comments, as this would be a wasted effort on their part without traffic. If you want total control (and, Carl, you give the impression of someone who desperately needs to feel in control), then you should host your own blog. Then you can restrict all comments to "You are absolutely right, Carl.""

The above was posted yesterday, May 31st, on a blog I wrote on March 24th. It represents to me a gross display of megalomania and the self-designated polymathic rantings of one who actually seems to believe he/she/it is an all-knowing all-seeing fiend/specter. If you have ever noticed this persona's exaltations you will find he/she/it feels they know everything about everything. Here he/she/it knows exactly the purpose(s) of the Times-Gazette. He/she/it knows exactly what I know and/or think on any subject. They spew their vitriol from the warm comfort of anonymity, a true mark of courage. In actuality this is the mark of a bully without the fortitude to face anyone in the light of day. Try to write a letter to the editor of the Times-Gazette the Tennessean or any respectable publication and see how far you get without identifying yourself. If you are unknown to the publications they will call and insure you are who you say you are.
That this "person"'s exhortation I don't "put up anything". I suppose he thinks the Times-Gazette should just post the comment box for his personal use. For the life of me I cannot think of why the Times-Gazette has a list of pictures and names published on the blog page. This idiot thinks they are just there for stylistic reasons. Have you noticed he/she/it obviously feels their purpose in life is to refute and disprove every single blogger and commenter, no matter the subject matter. You notice he/she/it seldom addresses the subject matter of the blog as it is often, apparently, beyond he/she/its ability to comprehend, ergo, he/she/it feels no obligation to extend the debate so he/she/it just attacks the messenger, the clear and obvious tactic of one not sufficiently learned in the thematic elements to offer an intelligent comment.
Notice, Mr./Mrs./Miss Wonderful in her/his/its soliloquy re "comments"emphatically states the policy of the Times-Gazette concerning comments. This soliloquy totally ignores what all commenters plainly see; "Please be respectful of others and try to stay on topic." This is the stated policy of the Times-Gazette. Check out my blog titled ISIS posted on March 24th and see how well this commenter obeyed this simple request.
Myself, I approached the Times-Gazette and requested an opportunity to write a blog. I appreciate the fact they offered me the opportunity to do so. This person has demonstrated emphatically he is above doing so and above following any simple rules. By so doing he inhibits some who have interesting things to say but will not put up with being belittled by this person and others of his ilk. These actions clearly cast a chilling effect on many who would like to participate.
