Note: The nature of the Internet makes it impractical for our staff to review every comment. Please note that those who post comments on this website may do so using a screen name, which may or may not reflect a website user's actual name. Readers should be careful not to assign comments to real people who may have names similar to screen names. Refrain from obscenity in your comments, and to keep discussions civil, don't say anything in a way your grandmother would be ashamed to read.
  • Boy Carl, I sure hope you copy/pasted the "he/she/it" references. That would wear me out! Besides, with my lack of typing skills, I would quickly make a booboo. :-/

Palindrome commented that there was a paper that used to allow this type of anonymous free-for-all on the last page of their printed issue but stopped when it blew up and they started losing readership.

At first, this type of conflict might attract followers but I would bet most are like me and stop reading the post when it gets into a verbal slug-fest. It then becomes their own little "no-holds-barred" ring until they push it over the limit.

When that happens no one benefits from their insightful comments but I guess some folks need that outlet.

  • Steve....

Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I remember when the blog discourse used to be fairly civil. The present environment keeps many good people from participating. I fear these blogs may have a short future just due to the actions of a few. Most present commenters have no abilities nor interest in exploring issues, just personal attacks.

  • Carl; I am the least anonymous person on here. You can watch me on Netflix... under this name. You can buy my books on Amazon... published under this name. I try to be civil and stay on topic, but often the conversation wanders, regardless. And sometimes, the remarks seem a little snide when I see them printed, but I have no more ability to edit them than you do. I don't think you will find anywhere I have called anyone the number of names you call me.... but I am a big boy, and it only amuses me.

  • Boy lazyrus, a whole blog just about you. Now you really are famous.

Back to the topic at hand. Carl, I think (not know but think) lazyrus really does believe he knows everything. That is the only explanation I can come up with for the way he is on here. (At least the only one I can mention without getting it pulled.) But maybe with some more time he will gain a more realistic outlook on life and realize he doesn't really know everything. By the way, I am an eternal optimist.

  • I think you should retitle the blog as "the pot calling the kettle black".

Just my little opinion. Nothing more....nothing less.

-- Posted by Blessed Assurance on Wed, Jun 1, 2016, at 4:41 PM
  • Points made and all pretty civil so I will continue to follow.

lazarus,I agree that it is sometimes hard to get things across in print the way you really meant them. That is one reason emoticons are so popular but all we can do here is the original"shorthand" and many don't understand it.

-- Posted by stevemills on Wed, Jun 1, 2016, at 4:47 PM
  • Well......Mr. McClanahan, I have truly enjoyed your blog contributions during the past few years, but I vehemently disagree with the nature of this posting. Not since you singled out darrick_04 have you so blatantly abused your platform.

Please do not get me wrong, I actually took up for you during your respite (on more than one front). I just do not think that the legitimate points that Lazarus regularly contributes can be so easily dismissed.

As a matter of fact, Lazarus brings a lot to the table in these forums. Not that I want to be a Lazurus "fan-boy", but sometimes factual reality really does trump political partisanship.

I hope that you rethink this blog and delete it. I also hope it the last one that gets deleted. I imagine that it is very frustrating to spend the time formulating a comment--just to see it disappear.

  • The constant reminders of naming yourself at the T-G office to get a blog gets tiresome. Its reminiscent of claims of walking 5 miles in the snow, uphill both ways, to get to school.

Conversation drift is normal and natural. It happens in face to face talks and in every internet discussion if they last long enough.

Standing over someone with a sour face and a ruler demanding compliance is counterproductive and only invites scorn and ridicule, and in no way encourages open communication.

-- Posted by quietmike on Thu, Jun 2, 2016, at 3:30 AM
  • Conversational drift is not a big issue for me BUT common decency and consideration, if not for the one being railed, but those others of us reading, is a concern for me.

I forgot all about darrick_04, Can't remember all that was said but remember enough. I value true opinions of everyone and really hate pulling a post because of all those who have contributed.

I wonder if the T-G can just stop all future comments to a post instead of us using our choice of last resort.

My new approach will be to just remove myself from a blog post that turns rancid and leave it up to the T-G to decide its fate. I won't say NEVER, but.... I will try very very hard to stay off the delete button.

-- Posted by stevemills on Thu, Jun 2, 2016, at 8:18 AM
  • Well, I hope Carl does not delete this post. It is quite a compliment to be singled out for a personal diatribe. I guess I really do not understand why people are so sensitive to criticism. It sure limits what you do, if you are concerned about what everyone will say...

I know it is a waste of time to come on here, when I have so much to do, but (on the whole) I rather enjoy the exchanges. Only talking to people who agree with me, or reading things that reinforce what I already think has little benefit. It might surprise you to know that, altho we often (but not always) disagree, I have a fondness for Carl, Quite Mike, Fare Share, and some of the others. Quite Mike and Fare Share in particular can bring a lot of good points to the table, and point my research in directions I might otherwise have missed. If I end a discussion with my opinion absolutely unchanged, then I know I have failed to listen to what the other person is saying. Everyone has something to contribute, altho it can sometimes be difficult to find, if it is hidden among insults and invective.

My personal approach to posting is to do a little research in advance, so that what I say is based on facts and not only opinions. To think thru what I want to say, so that I do not digress from the subject at hand (too much). I make every effort not to call anyone names (because when you call someone a name, it only makes you sound childish). And to respond to individuals, not try to lump them into some imaginary block with a hive mind.

In that same vein, I think my posts should express my thoughts, not purport to define the thoughts of others. No posts are less valuable than those that say: "the whacked out right wingers think..." or "the loony libs believe..." All they demonstrate is that the poster is unable to comprehend the true nature of what they perceive as "the other."

The hardest part for me, is not coming across as arrogant and sarcastic, when my intent was more good-natured ribbing. Nothing we discuss on here is really worth getting angry about. I think that the difference in how seriously we take things might be why I seem to set Carl off so often.

-- Posted by lazarus on Thu, Jun 2, 2016, at 10:31 AM
  • Nothing wrong with sarcasm. Arrogance maybe, but not sarcasm.

-- Posted by fair share on Thu, Jun 2, 2016, at 11:07 AM
  • The promotional response had me hoping we had a new respondent. Do we or will this be your only post Techappzone?

I will be getting off the topic a second by saying I sure wish I knew how to automatically stop blind posts to blogs. I have another off the T-G that has 500+ responses and only 18 are real.

I just approved one today that I am nervous about but at least it was on topic rather than promoting website development, SEO, flashlights, etc.

    OK, I'm done. :-)

-- Posted by stevemills on Fri, Jun 3, 2016, at 8:31 AM
  • Techappzone is an !@@#$%^. IMHO.

BA, you are entitled to your "little opinion", but "Nothing more". Be careful about calling things "black" in a derogatory manor. Some might consider that racist.

  • Carl,

Megalomania Personified describes you to a tee. That is until you come across a comment that has no human name attached to it. Then you go bonkers. You claim you can't talk to He/she/it/someone who has no name. It's like talking to a "fence post", something you don't seem to be able to do.

When you meet He/she/it/someone on the street, do you freeze up because you can't say "Good Morning" to He/she/it/them simply because He/she/it/they are a nameless "fence post"? Do you know the name of everyone you deal with like the "He/she/it/paper boy" or the "He/she/it/mail man" or "He/she/it/waitress" at a restaurant? What about the He/she/it/cashier at Walmart?

Evidently you aren't Megalomania Personified. I know I am. Everyone He/she/it who has pride in themselves and are intelligent and not followers have some form of Megalomania quality about He/she/it/them. Otherwise they would be no better than a He/she/it/ZOMBIE!

Was I able to keep my comment on the subject of your blog? I hope I haven't shut your blog down for all the commenters. I have a way of shutting down blogs!

-- Posted by sui on Fri, Jun 3, 2016, at 10:15 PM
  • Well sui, you may have shut down another blog. No comments for several days.

I find interesting your penchant for talking to fence posts since you criticize me for, "something you don't seem to be able to do." I'll have to work on talking to fence posts.

Your examples of my daily discourse with people I meet is also interesting. You know, I have never meet anyone in my many, many years whose first words to me was to tell me how stupid I am. I don't know about you, but the places I go requiring the services of wait staff are known to me or they introduce themselves on first approach to my table. Also the Walmarts, Krogers et al, I visit have employees who have their name on their chests.

-- Posted by cmcclanahan on Tue, Jun 7, 2016, at 4:59 PM
  • Carl,

I must have scared them off. I just don't understand why people leave instead of staying and learning things they know nothing about. That wasn't my penchant.

I meet people everyday that don't wear a name tag. That doesn't stop me from speaking to them and wishing them a great or pleasant day. I don't have to know your name to talk to you (anyone).

Since the blog has been dormant a few days now, I was debating with myself as to whether or not to use your downtime blog to explain why I feel so great about having:

    1. A psychopathological condition in which delusional fantasies of wealth, power, or omnipotence predominate.

    2. An obsession with grandiose or extravagant things or actions.

First I have to say that we ALL were endowed by our CREATOR, with Unalienable Rights to do anything we want to do as long as we don't infringe upon others. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, the only begotten Son of God, Himself told us that we are no longer bound by the law. We are only bound by the two commandments.

That means my Father Is the KING! I am a son of the Sovereign King of Everything!

Yes, I do feel honored and great. THIS IS NOT A DELUSION OF GRANDIOSE, nor a psychopathological condition. It is the truth.

Wealthy, yes and no. I don't have material things that don't matter. I do have a wealth of knowledge, even if I don't know how to put it down on paper. When it comes to power, I have my share of power. As a Sovereign man, I have more Authority than any government agent or officer, official, including the U.S. President, because I am not bound by "Codes, Rules and Regulations which only apply to government agencies and their employees and federal citizens. Codes, Rules and Regulations are unconstitutional because they are lacking Due Process of the law, which nullifies all court actions.

    Rodriques v. Ray Donavan (U.S. Department of Labor) 769 F. 2d 1344, 1348 (1985).

The laws of these united States are the law of the land and when you know them you are Sovereign over everyone who does not know the truth.

Is that delusional fantasies of wealth, power, or omnipotence predominate, or an obsession with grandiose or extravagant things or actions or is this what the Bible says, Jesus Christ says and the Supreme Law of the Land say?

Yes. I am all these things and very proud to be that sure of myself.

I look around and read what others say, and I can quickly see no one seems to know any of this. That is why they think I am nuts, because they just don't get what Jesus Died for or why the Constitution prohibits the government from denying us our Inalienable rights.

In a way... You have to be delusional to some degree to make yourself believe that you do have all this power, wealth and extravagant inner feelings and knowledge.

Every Right God has given us has been taken away from each of us. It is your responsibility to learn what your rights are, who gave them to you and to reclaim your rights. Your rights can not be claimed by an attorney. Only YOU can claim your rights.

Not I, but the United States Congress and the U.S. Government freed the slaves then placed them back into slavery by making them citizens subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the U.S. Gov and State Governments. A white man was not included as the enemy or a U.S. Federal citizen. A white man isn't bound by federal laws unless they volunteer to come under its jurisdiction. The same goes for every U.S. Citizen who became a citizen through the 14th amendment. They surrendered their sovereignty to become U.S. Citizens and subject to its exclusive jurisdiction. See how easy it was for the congress to create subjects the government had control over? The 14th amendment gave congress Sovereignty over these new citizens. The government never had citizens under its jurisdiction before the 14th amendment.

Now you actually want me to sign my real name to this? That would be very stupid, don't you think. Even though it is the truth, it wasn't me who did it. It was the Federal Government that everyone Loves and Trusts to Protect them.

I like to tell the people about some of the things it has done to the people, but the people are happy the government has raped them. I didn't know the people were that brain dead and not interested in learning more until I came on board on these blogs.

-- Posted by sui on Thu, Jun 9, 2016, at 8:19 PM
  • Wow.Don't know how to respond to that but must explain myself.I can come off rude, arrogant, name calling and willing to stand and fight. As a person who has been in movies, documentaries, publications,TV and social media,I can attest and vouch for the fact that there are a whole lot of keyboard warriors out there.Anything I say on here or anywhere else, I'll say to one's face no matter who you are.I'm amazed at how far we've regressed in the art of communication and ability to reason. I do have a long history of stomping liberals, liars, thieves and rednecks into the ground. Yes I believe in humiliating them as there a disgrace to all of us.I live by a quote from Albert Sydney Johnston."I'd fight 'em if they were a million."If I offend someone, humiliate you,or flat out call you a name. You get on the fact that you have started the fight, made ignorant comments or need a lesson in life.People it's time to learn how to communicate, read, reason and stop being ignorant.

  • I do not hate anyone on these blogs. I only like to build a fire under them and get them fired up. That is when the truth comes out. Althou I see that common sense is becoming a thing of the past.

The colleges are teaching idiots to be stupid, but then the professors are ignorant also. Why would they want to teach innocent young adults that socialism is a great way to live when they can plainly see it doesn't work. Look at all the kids (yes kids 18 to 50 years of age who have to live off their parents because they don't want to pay their own way). They teach them to believe in Democracy and "let the government give you everything" when we are guaranteed a "Republican Form of Government".

Democrats believe in a Democracy where the government rules. That is what we offer (demand of them) to other countries when we intervene.

Republicans want a Republican form of government where the people are the Sovereignty not the government (just like the Constitutions all claim and expect from the governments).

Did you know that when you sign up in the military to fight for your country and for the freedom of the people, you have to surrender you Sovereign Rights to protect your country and its people? All white people and all immigrants who became U.S. citizens, BEFORE the 14th amendment was enacted, are the Sovereignty of this country, not the government. However there can not be (2) Sovereigns in control at the same time. So you have to surrender your sovereignty to be in the military who must have complete authority over the troops. You have to reclaim your rights later (if) you want Unalienable Rights again in this country. Otherwise you will only be granted Civil Rights and Privileges.

We went from being the Sovereignty to being the Subjects over the years. Some of us have reclaimed our sovereignty and still exercise Unalienable Rights over others who have not. So there is a superior class of people in this country and people need to accept it.

If you are no better than a "Subject to the government", how can you be superior to a sovereign white man? Facts are facts!

Being a Sovereign means you have to govern yourself.

There is no authority higher than a Sovereign in which to appeal. "A sovereign is bound only by his God and his conscience."

Bouvier's 14th Edition Law Dictionary (Quoting from 4 Wheat, 402)

    Ironic really.

It looks like sooner than later everyone would just tire of it and leave him to play alone in the sand by himself or...... with himself.

  • Hummmmmm! Where did it go?

And just when the Megalomania Personified Sui was going to spill the beans on "Judicial Bias". What a shame. Now I can not talk about it because it would be off topic. What a shame and so many people would have really gotten POed after my expose. It starts at the top with the Justice Dept. and goes all the way down the ladder to the cheapest lawyer, including the court clerk who actually has more power and authority than the judge and highest paid lawyers.

The lives of the judges and lawyers are in the hands of your local court clerk. Yet we are intimidated by the court system. And it doesn't stop there, it goes on to the corporations all over the Nation.

Oh well, I've got work to do. I can't stop everyday and keep telling people what they really don't want to know.

-- Posted by sui on Sat, Jun 18, 2016, at 11:53 AM
  • This "Judicial Bias" agenda pulls the plug on Collection Agencies. Wouldn't it be nice if you never had to pay the collection agencies anything?

A collection agency is the back room of a lawyer's office.

A fast money making part time investment for any lawyer with a little extra money and spare time.

-- Posted by sui on Sat, Jun 18, 2016, at 7:54 PM
  • Oh sui sui sui come spill all the beans you have.

-- Posted by Blessed Assurance on Sat, Jun 18, 2016, at 8:55 PM
  • I will give you a teaser BA, You don't have to pay a collection agency and if they report you to a credit reporting agency, you can sue them. Look up the word NOVATION!!

The courts and every lawyer worth his salt knows what a novation is and does. The department of Justice all the way down to the lawyers and judges are fully aware of this yet let the lawyers abuse you.

-- Posted by sui on Sat, Jun 18, 2016, at 11:44 PM
  • I will only continue if I see someone interested enough to learn how to protect their family and fortune by giving me the definition of "novation" in writing here.

-- Posted by sui on Sun, Jun 19, 2016, at 10:58 AM
  • Sui, wouldn't the abusee have to sign the new one? Be careful tho. The topic of this blog I thought was to bad-mouth lazyrus. If we don't do that and talk about contracts instead, Carl just might take this toy and go home again. Unless he has forgotten about it.

-- Posted by fair share on Sun, Jun 19, 2016, at 8:09 PM
  • Your right fair share. This was meant to be posted on the "Judicial Bias" blog, but Carl couldn't keep it up long enough. He even took it out of the archives as thou it never existed. And we thought Hillary was the only one who wiped their computer clean of emails and documents.

I'll have to wait until another blog comes along, if I can still remember this by then.

-- Posted by sui on Sun, Jun 19, 2016, at 10:36 PM
  • You never, never, never sign a novation contract nor pay them a penny because there is no legal binding contract with them to pay, UNLESS you make a payment to them or sign a contract with them.

-- Posted by sui on Mon, Jun 20, 2016, at 2:12 AM
  • Yeah. Seems like as long as I have been around here, Carl doesn't seem to have a problem getting it up. Just keeping it up. The blogs of course.

-- Posted by fair share on Mon, Jun 20, 2016, at 9:53 AM
  • The Times Gazette is owned by Rust Communications of Cape Girardeau, MO. The company owns numerous newspapers around the country - mostly small town daily and weeklys.

Each of their papers websites are similar in design, and almost all their papers have bloggers.

Below is the website to their papers

If you read the blogs, I like the two from Thayer, MO. Thayer is a small town in the Ozarks on the Arkansas border These two are interesting.

Compared to the other blogs, Carl is a class of his own.

-- Posted by Grit on Mon, Jun 20, 2016, at 10:23 PM
  • If ya'll keep this up, I won't have my own topic any more.... Won't someone pitch in with some invective about me before it is too late?

-- Posted by lazarus on Tue, Jun 21, 2016, at 12:45 AM
  • There you go again whining. And so needy. Are you sure you are not a lib?

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Jun 21, 2016, at 2:10 AM
  • That might be hard for most of us to do. I do believe Carl slapped all of us with his He/She/It name calling.

He even referred to someone as a "person". A "person" is a "Corporation" not a man or woman. The craziest thing about this blog is anyone who typed anything here could assume he was talking about them also. We all railroaded his blog and made it more interesting. I mean how much stuff can you come up with when the subject is about one thing, and the "Blogger" thinks he has said it all? What else can you say?

-- Posted by sui on Tue, Jun 21, 2016, at 2:25 AM
  • Laz, now that I have thought about it for a while, I just don't know if I can keep saying bad stuff about you. I can't really explain it. Maybe Carl just rubbed me the wrong way . If I can give it a rest for a bit then I may be able to keep it up again.

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Jun 21, 2016, at 5:28 AM
  • This is great stuff, keep it up... not..

-- Posted by Evil Monkey on Tue, Jun 21, 2016, at 10:23 AM
  • OK lazyrus. I've let it rest enough and am now ready to spew invective again. But not on this blog. It might make Carl happy. By the way I'm glad to see this blog in your honor is still up!

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Jun 28, 2016, at 12:47 PM
  • It is one of my prouder moments, Fare Share.

Maybe if we get off topic, Carl will give you your own post, as well. It hardly seems fair for me to get more than my share. (smiley face)

-- Posted by lazarus on Tue, Jun 28, 2016, at 11:55 PM
  • Seems like so many people have trouble figuring out what their fair share of so many things is. On here you do take a lot. But you make a lot too. So maybe you aren't getting more than what's fare.

Anyway, it would be nice if Carl would give me a post. I am saving a comment for him. But I daren't make it here because I don't want to see this one taken down. 😁
