Welcome to the museumPosted Monday, July 28, 2008, at 1:44 PM
We were eating corn on the cob the other day and I made a comment that Ben, our middle son, used to look like a typewriter, he'd eat it so quickly.
The 9-year-old, Buzz, blinked. "What's a typewriter?" he asked. You can imagine the long pause. The longer it went on, the more I felt the years piling up on me, stacking up like my endless invitations to join the AARP. There's nothing like a kid to make you feel old. We went camping again this weekend and had a beach party with some friends. Buzz and I were chasing each other around with squirt guns, laughing like maniacs, and falling in the water. There's nothing like a kid to make you feel young. Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

I think I may have been at the same beach party..or one very much like it..Haven't done that in a long time and I am starting to feel young again because of it..
Funny thing about getting older, you start to remember the things of your youth and want to relive them..I am giving it my best shot Mary and you and the family should too....As long as we act young , we feel young and that is the best it gets..
Keep up the good work here and I hope to someday meet you and your family, they sound like wonderful people..
We go to Cedar Point alot (we have the luxury of my parents air conditioning RV) except I prefer to sleep in the tent at night because, you are really not camping if a tent is not involved.
There are several great places to camp. I lke Old Stone Fort, Tims Ford (Love places with diners!) and Whispering Oaks, but sometimes, we just park out on some friends' property.
Mary
where did you go camping at?
There's nothing like a kid to make you say/do something that your parents said or did that you swore you would never do! I catch myself saying and doing things that I hated as a kid, and now I do it to my son. My mom hated it when I used to say "whatever" to her, now my 4 year old says it to me! I have to laugh a bit, but it drives me crazy!! My mom laughs because she sees it as payback for the way I was when I was a child. I always say, you get what you give!! And now I'm getting it!!
