Welcome to the voting booth...Posted Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at 10:46 AM
I don't care who you vote for -- Just get out there and vote!
(Of course, that's not ture, I do care who you vote for, but I keep my politics to myself).. I think we should do what they did in Iraq -- dye all the voters' fingers after they vote. There, it's to keep them from voting more than once and to prove they took part in the process. Here, I think a dyed finger should buy your ticket into "I've got the right to gripe about the government" club -- because if you don't vote, in my opinion, you don't have that right. I need y'all's help. I want to do a story about a recently naturalized citizen who will be voting for the first time. If you know of anyone in this area who fits the bill, please have them contact me at the T-G. Thanks! Mary And GO VOTE! I am all for voting, but your comment about not griping unless you vote is wrong. If i don't vote i still have the right to gripe because i pay taxes.
Well, Americans are going to gripe no matter the criteria. LOL!
"dye all the voters' fingers after they vote"
Excellent idea!
rights4all,
i agree I dont think voting is the ticket to griping if you live in this country you have the right to gripe about something if it is not right or you just disagree, maybe everyone does not agree with the voting process or maybe one does not like any of the candidates, I dont agree with the vote for the lesser of two evils concept. Im voting this year because I like one of the candidates and I honestly don think the other one is all that bad, he is definitely better than the last president, but even if i didnt vote i could still gripe whenever i want about whatever i want to gripe about thats the beauty of being an american
Mary, I guess there is a difference in having the right to gripe and just going ahead and griping any way. :)
