Well, I made my first trip to Bonnaroo last night, with my 17-year-old son in tow. I have to give him credit - he didn't act remotely embarrassed to be seen with me, even when I had my AFV moment and fell slap! Right in a sticky mud puddle, then cleaned up by jumping into the fountain.

He did wait until we went our separate ways before trying is out his dance moves at the Silent Disco, where everyone has headphones on so you see them dancing, but can't hear the music. Kind of like watching a room full of cats with an electrified floor ...

We come home exhausted, muddy and excited. No wonder they only have this even once a year - it is way too much fun!

More from the 'Roo later ...

Come to think of it, that is how the original Woodstock was as well.

A few friends and I camped out the night before Woodstock and the rain and wind blew our sleeping bags off the mountain. We thought we would look terrible coming to the festival wet and muddy. Turns out, we were some of the clean ones!

Splash in the mud right from the start? Sounds like you knew exactly what to do at the festival. Are you sure you slipped?

Wash off in the fountain on Sunday. I love the people out there drinking the water from that giant shroom. :p
