Where were you when man first walked on the moon -- 40 years ago Monday? NASA may have lost the tapes, but we've still got the memories. We want to know and share your memories of this historic moment with our readers cold floor, staring at the huge, black and white TV. The astronauts bounced slowly through the static snow, some of which was generated by NASA, some by the loose television aerial.

A survey taken recently said less than 75 percent of people knew it was Neil Armstrong who took those first, historic steps on the moon's surface. The same survey said seven people thought it was Louis Armstrong and 11 thought it was Buzz Lightyear.

My own Buzz thought it was Lance Armstrong. The man's a great biker -- but not that great!

So send us your thoughts and memories of the moonwalk as soon as possible to jcarney@t-g.com.
