Bob Corker must think we're Idiots!Posted Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at 11:21 PM
Thanks a lot Senator Bob Corker for not listening again. The people of Tennessee and the United States are backing Ron Paul's "audit the fed" bill so much so that the legislation has 303 co-sponsors, including more than 100 Democrats. The matching Senate bill already has 30 sponsors but why would you listen to "we the people" anyway? Your attempt to sidetrack us by introducing your watered down impotent bill "The Federal Reserve Accountability Act" suggest that you are a bought and paid for Washington Politician! The IRS wants to know what Joe Public does with every penny of our income while you sit in your ivory towers making laws to hide all your buddies financial decisions. Yes, you know, all your buddies from the committees you've worked with, like-
the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions, the Subcommittee on Security and International Trade and Finance, and the Subcommittee on Securities, Insurance and Investment. Wow Bob, your a popular guy! Oh and don't forget your "scratch my back buddies" like UBS/AG, Merrill Lynch, Regions Financial and First TN Bank, some of their employees and the PAC's have been some of your biggest contributors-they've made you a great success! Keep in mind folks, to quote Ron Paul-"the truth is that the Federal Reserve is about as federal as Federal Express". They are privately owned and are not part of our government system. You know, like Blimpie's Subs. I will narrow it down to only one question Bob. What would be wrong with just co-sponsoring the S604 bill that calls for a full audit of the Federal Reserve system? And for you Joe Public three questions. Why is Bob against monetary transparency? What does the Fed have to hide? Who is Bob protecting? Let's all remember "good ole boy" Bob Corker in the next election and VOTE THE BUM OUT! Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I'm calling him today!
I am going to work for and donate to whoever will run against Bob "Bailout" Corker and "Liberal" Lamar Alexander. They are both traitors.
Oh yes, that is the solution. Vote Corker out and give the Democrats an even bigger majority in Congress.
I swear . . . intelligence is really lacking on all sides of the political spectrum!

I thought you voted for the person not for the party necessarily?
Yes I do . . . unfortunately it is not helping our country at this moment though.
Corker and other RINOs are worse than the democrats, they are wolves in sheep's clothing. They are like spies who walk among us. I have more respect for obama, reid, or pelosi-at least they honestly represent their positions as socialists on the front end so people may vote accordingly.
Bart Gordon is a co sponser. Will you now support him?
Grit
Sorry, I still won't support Gordon, but for other reasons although I am glad he chose to co-sponsor HR1207. He was a late-comer not signing on until September 8th but at least he came to recognize that to not co-sponsor it would be to resist the will of the people. If there is one piece of legislation that the people of the United States agree on both sides of the aisle, it is Audit The Fed.

Bob Corker is guilty only of knowing his constituency. Sadly, we are as a rule, idiots.
Auditing the Fed will not change anything, nor will most of us even understand the findings of that audit. Further, if we did understand the findings and demanded change, what would we get in its place? To control a currency is to control the entirety of the population who depend upon it, which is a considerable part of the world in this instance. Should we be actively recruiting a new Tsar for the position?
There have always been movements to limit control of currency monopolies (most recently the extreme left). None have been very successful. Unfortunately, our forefathers were actually much more concerned with this aspect of our governance than they were the Bill of Rights that we all like to focus on.
It is one of the objectives of the Fed to protect the capital of Western influence in order to achieve advantage. This does not always align perfectly with protecting the masses who happen to reside in their shadow, which is a long shadow indeed when the other players who have the same objectives are thrown into the mix.
It is a mis-conception to think that currency was created for the convenience of citizenry. It is used to efficiently extract from the masses the tribute that is required of them. It always has been, and always will be. The population can easily be squeezed like a fresh lemon, or left on the vine to grow fat and ripen, depending on the needs of the growers.
The place to start is not with auditing legislation, but an insightful understand of the majority, as to exactly what our position in life is, and more importantly, how it relates to the larger powers of the world today. As best as I can tell, it is only with that insight that we can effectively exercise our voice at the voting booth. I would really like to see a blog coming from you soon that highlights your issues with the Fed. Maybe there is more that an atheist and a preacher have in common than you think.
Kelly;
So, because of the audit the fed issue; you are now in disputation with the man you probably supported - Bob Corker; but will not support the man that is in favor of auditing the fed - Bart Gordon.
Grit
Me and Bart disagree on Cap and Trade, taking Stimulus money, Health Care, Abortion, but again I am very happy that he signed on with hr1207
I'm not sure if you have seen any of the reasoning about auditing the fed so here are a couple short links.

Also I just want to say that the Fed keeps crying that if they are audited it could cause economic problems. Yea, maybe the housing bubble might burst, or the Dow will lose almost half it's value.
The debt liability for each citizen in the US today is 343,797 per person. We are not in a recession or a depression, unless we are able to payback our debt we would technically be considered bankrupt! "Grit" Please tell me if you think I'm being close minded or just one sided but do you really believe in your heart that in the direction we see the country going that we will ever pull out of this?
Source for debt: http://www.usdebtclock.org/
Look at the debt clock page for the per person.
Grit
Also I noticed our debt per tax paying citizen is 110,278 on the debt clock. I don't know about you but for the wages I've earned in my life I would have a difficult time ever paying that off-probably near impossible.

I will be taking a 30% pay cut in the next year. I would like to see all the congress and senate do the same! My insurance, gas, food and clothing has all doubled in the last year. The property tax has TRIPLED in the last 20 years, while I am making 1.00 an hour more. I hate it that Corker can't vote for financial responsibiliy, but he was a "Corporate Corn holer" against the working man from the beginning! Somebody pat Pat Marsh on the back too. I was not allowed to vote against him, since I only own property in Bedford County and do not live in Bedford County. Let me also congradulate Kelly on enlighting the people in Shelbyville what is going on. "Nuff said".
"Grit" Please tell me if you think I'm being close minded or just one sided but do you really believe in your heart that in the direction we see the country going that we will ever pull out of this?
Thank you for asking. Yes. The people in this country went through a cival war, a couple of world wars, a handful of depressions and numerous recessions. We always seem to come out of it.
Grit . . . we came out of those ordeals because people believed in hard work and determination during those moments of hard times. Now everyone expects everything to be handed to them with little or no work involved plus it is a "me" society and that that they are "owed" everything.
Jaxspike:
Maybe so; but seems like I heard that when I was growing up 40 years ago. However, can we create something of value - that we can trade, or the dynamics too difficult? We have a different world now, China has become the worlds manufacturing center. They peg their currency to the US dollar, and loan us money so we can buy their goods.
We all know Corker would rather shove a knife in the peoples back than support our good........... He is not for the average person, if your not big business you do not fit into his agenda....... Just wait and see what he does if the health care passes with the option for states to OPT out. My bet is he attacking that with more vengeance than he did the American car companies.............. CORKER IS NOT "OUR" GUY he's owned by those who would step on us like we're mere bugs under their feet.
Said it before, say it again, Corker does not care about Tennesseeans or our opinions, he's on the media spotlight circuit.
You want to vote him out. Gee lets replace him with that Ford guy that ran against him last election. Now there is a real honest political family from Memphis. LOL
I don't understand what the audit will do. I worked for the "Fed" in Nashville. We were audiuted by the GAO. So what type of audit are they calling for?
Hey dunroamin -I posted an answer to your question in my new blog.
http://www.t-g.com/blogs/1300/entry/3102...
I know this person knows Corker and has hit the nail on the head.. we have got to vote Corker out of office
Alan Grayson is standing up as bipartisan for audit the fed!
