Bee StoryPosted Friday, February 20, 2009, at 5:13 PM
I am allergic to bees, wasps and other small flying assault bugs.
I can just imagine them watching for me to dive bomb me when i get ready to garden.
One day, for some reason I cannot fathom, I volunteered to pull weeds at the church flowerbeds.
Everything was going pretty smooth, until i got to a large patch by the churchs front door.
I pulled and the Hordes of Hell came out of the patch of grass. It was a yellowjacket nest.
Them suckers are mean and don't give up. You never saw a fat gal run so fast...
I ran into the front doors of the church, and of course some of those devils followed me stinging.
I got my anaphylaxis kit out of my purse while trying to swat those kamakazi bugs, and the dratted thing discharged through my thumb.. so now i have:
Mad Bugs still after me,
A useless anaphylaxis shot through the thumb,
a very surprised church sectretary,
and a bloody carpet from which my thumb was pouring beacuse the needle was stuck through it.
So i did what any one would do, I screetched like a little girl and wanted to (did not) say a few choice words about Yellowjackets and their uselessness in God's Design.
I wrapped my hand up, killed the remaining yellow jackets (with glee)that were still trying to kill me and had the secretary call the ENT specialist for a emergancy epinephrine shot.
And a new thumb.
