The greatest cat ever!Posted Monday, March 16, 2009, at 10:54 AM
They named this long haired, big kitten Mighty Joe.
He was a Maine Coon, not full bred but beautiful.
3 years later we were called at my house and Mighty Joe
needed a home.
We had adopted his mother, Vicki already.
Joe intergrated into the house hold fine, he thought he was King of the house and the official greeter of the door.
Being a 20 lb cat with a large frame, he would intimidate folks when he would come to the door to greet them.
We even had one visiting kid freak out and yell he was a puma...
Joe has his routine for the day, and he does not deviate. We built a special outdoor area for the kitties to roam and get sunshine.
He would love to roam the neighborhood, but a neighbor hates all pets and it would not be a good idea.
Too many have mysteriously been poisoned in the neighborhood that have roamed.
Joe is my son's best friend and he follows Shea like a dog. He sleeps with him, and wakes him up for school in the morning, follwing him to the shower. And he talks all the time, you walk in the room and ask him "whats up?" and he will answer you.
One of Joe's favorite things to do is "keep the computer safe."
Another is "hide behind the furniture and leap out at the other cats."
If you are thinking of getting a kitty, choose a outgoing friendly one like Joe.
Any kitten/cat you adopt or buy, please get all the vaccinations recommended and Spay or Neuter them by age 6 months.
More stories on Gentle Joe another day, hope you enjoyed.
