Cleaning out the detritousPosted Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at 8:39 AM
EEK time to clean
The Shed is the place all the unwanted things go, the I might need this things, the save this for later things... SO I started. First the old vacuum parts went, then boxes i have been saving for Ebay sales..whenever. Then old car polishes long dried up, and a mattress that does not inflate anymore. There was so much accumulated junk. I could not believe it.After I cleared everything out, I was able to reorganize and place things so they could be easy to get to. Cat carriers for emergancies, Have-A-Heart traps for strays, then Ebay boxes and Lawn mowers. Man it was amazing, and looked so much better. I was thinking our spiritual life gets like this too. We hold onto resentments, old feelings and unforgiveness like I had those old vacuum parts. These things clutter our spiritual life and make it too stuffed with extras to allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us and clear the air. Allow God to clean your shed of clutter. Are you hanging on to a old hurt? Get rid of it, sweep it clean. Do you have unforgiveness tword someone, I did. I allowed the Holy Spirit to brush that away and fill me with peace. The resentment went into the Spiritual Wastecan. Allow the Lord to work in you this week, you'll be glad you did. Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

Thanks, Lesa.
I've been hearing that in my spirit this week.
I'm glad you spoke it out loud, that's the confirmation I needed. Love you! sissy
I am truly guilty of holding on to things I think I will need also, clothes, toys, baby furniture, craft things, etc. If you have more than one child, that is going to add on even more things. I am too afraid to go all the way into my garage, I use to have it nice and neat, but when I got married my husband took over it and it is a hot mess. We killed 3 snakes behind the garage 2 weeks ago, I can't imagine how many is inside that old raggedy garage. Hopefully we will be spring cleaning it out this year, the whole garage needs a major repair actually.
Holding on to grudges is bad for the soul, it can actually cause health problems if you keep so much hate in you. You have to ask God to create in you a clean heart, and to renew the right spirit with in you. Try to have an understanding why some people are the way they are, and why some things are the way they are, know that no one is perfect, and forgive.
It always feels great to have organized junk.
