Ralph the SquirrelPosted Friday, October 2, 2009, at 5:04 PM
Ralph: a part of the household...
I went to the store and bought puppy formula and a bottle. We named him Ralph.
I started bottle feeding the little guy and eventually he weaned himself off the bottle. He was so cute, big brown eyes and a fluffy tail.
He started developing quite the personality in our home, when I opened the kennel he will run up my arm and sit on my shoulder.
He loves watermelon, sweet potatoes and the usual nuts.
I also found out today he loves my sweet tea.
We have tried integrating him outdoors and he is not interested yet. My cats find him interesting but, not so much they stalk him.
Today he was on my shoulder, and the cat came up and laid down next to me like Ralph was part of the family.
Ralph has quite a following on Facebook now, and I may start his own Twitter account.
A gentleman that rents from us laments that now he knows Ralph, he can no longer go hunting for squirrels and feel ok about it.
I told him, wait till we get the deer.
What kinds of animals have you rescued?
Ralph is one of many different kinds of animals we have housed over the years.
The oddest being a onry possum.
Do you have any critter tales??
