Posted Thursday, December 29, 2011, at 6:48 PM

Is there a book club here in Shelbyville? I was wondering. As much as I read....maybe I need to join one.

I am not aware of one, but that is not anything definitive. Maggie Vaughn might know here in Bell Buckle since she is the TN Poet Laureate.

There are numerous book clubs in Shelbyville- I'm sure the library staff can direct you to one which you would enjoy.

Maybe they would like to list the ones in existence?

At least folks could consider before they call for specific contact info.

There's always room for one more.

Here's a story I wrote in August about what's probably the oldest club in Shelbyville: http://www.t-g.com/story/1752728.html

I'd be surprised if there weren't others.

Boy, that almost looks like guys don't read books. Hmmm, wonder when I read the last one? Usually during the winter so I guess I am due.

Here is something I just ran across if you would prefer to have a book club "on the web". http://www.librarything.com/
