Crazy Life of a ParentPosted Sunday, August 30, 2009, at 1:13 AM
I know there are those that can sympathize with me out there. Sorry I haven't blogged in a while, but I've had a lot going on.
School started at the new Community High, we had to take the tour. Gotta say very nice. We had to purchase supplies including new or slightly used clothing for school. Our family celebrated a wonderful sweet sixteen for my daughter including party...ahhh it went well but glad its over. And I am seriously considering getting a second job....oh if only blogging would pay!!!! Football season has started and we are involved in practice, games, fundraisers, and etc. You know I am not getting any younger and sometimes it's hard to keep up. My parents always told me that I never appreciated all they did for me and I hate to admit it, but they were right. Just like I guess my children don't realize how much I do for them. The mom taxi, the mom bank, and the mom bakery/cafe never close it seems. Is this how everybody is with just different tasks to be done? You know if my mom had said kids are so much work maybe I wouldn't have had three...no I would have had them. The good thing about them is they are good kids. They are going to slowly drive me crazy, but they are good. How long does this last or is it forever? The mood changes, the whining, and the what have you done now are normal on any day of the week at my house. Is it at yours too? Teenagers....gotta go something just got broken...blog you later. I feel your pain!!! I have 4 of them, they whine, they fight, they don't want to do their chores, but they want everything pronto... They don't appreciate what we do, but they will.... someday....
I know I did.
Keep your chin up, these days will pass. Your kids are awesome, I know them all. And you know mine. lolol...... Just think Quizno's.......
It's nice to see you blogging again girl...and you know I feel your pain. My kids--God love them--are continuely into something.
Lillie busted her lip in a soccer game last night at Central...her bottom teeth bit through her lip. She had the coach slap a bandage on it, then she went back into the game. Jim spent 3 hours in the E.R. waiting on the four stitches that it resulted in (I got stuck with Katelynn and Emily, again).
oh, the woes of parenting...
oh man i understand. Try having a teen that has Asperger's. It gets real interesting then.
I'm not so sure it ever really changes I still whine and cry to Mom. I am sure she still gets the worse end of my mood swings. When I go to her house the first thing I do is open the frig even if I'm not hungry (force of habit I guess). She says I still have the want it now problem but I think most of us do. I really don't remember me fighting much with my brother or sister but I am sure we did. Although I do remember locking my sister in the closet I can honestly say I haven't done that in a while (maybe I should invite her over LOL)
I guess the only "revenge" one can look forward to as a parent is knowing that one day age will overtake your child's youthfull intellect, and they will inevitably admit that you were right.
My own mother became an absolute genius by the time I reached 30, and I've lived long enough that my own (adult) children consider me wise.
