My background
My name is Betty Higdon Brown, and the first 20 years of my life were spent in neighboring Lewisburg, another small town. The next 45 years I lived in Nashville. That was a change, but I adapted. For over 40 years I worked in the political arena at the State Capitol, right in the heart of the city. After my retirement I asked my husband, who was already retired, if he wanted to move back to his hometown of Shelbyville. He still has family here, so he jumped at the opportunity. We moved last September.
My blog I'm going to write about the differences I find between city and small-town living. Also, I'll mention things I find here that you may already know. There are things I'll need you to tell me so I can become better acquainted with my surroundings. My 16-year-old granddaughter had a really blank (maybe stunned is a better word) expression on her face when she heard I would be writing a blog. She knew what it was, but I'm learning. Let's see how it goes. |
