Food is everywhere!

I am so glad that Thom mentioned the Bell Buckle Café in his first blog. I knew before we moved to Shelbyville that you had a Ruby Tuesday and Legends. We were very familiar with Ruby Tuesday and had eaten at Legends both here and in Columbia. Legends is quieter, and I enjoy the atmosphere there. I love their fruit tea. However, as I am hypoglycemic, it can do a number on my blood sugar if I drink too much or get a cup to go. Of course, we knew all the fast food places and have made it to several of them, as well as Chili's, since we've been in town. Then we started going to the Bell Buckle Café. They have such good food there. My husband could eat there every day of the week. I probably could too. Murfreesboro has many nice restaurants, but we are trying to get around to the smaller cafes in Bedford County. There seem to be more opening right here at Celebration time. Be patient with us. We'll make it. Maybe I could become a restaurant critic, eat free food and rate it on my blog. Just joking!
We are enjoying getting to know the city and county. (For Jim it's being reacquainted with the area.) We have to depend on others to help us find things and places. If you know of a restaurant we need to check out, let me know. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I love the food at the Bell Buckle Cafe too! I know it's not in BC, but the food at Miller's Grocery in Christiana is well worth the trip. However they are only open during lunch hours during the week. Dinner is served on Friday and Saturday evenings.

OMG...the Bell Buckle Cafe has the best food in Bedford County..HANDS DOWN!! It's the only place you can really go and get the "comfort" food. LOVE IT!! Great, now I want to go and eat there, anybody else want to go?
Mmmmm. I LOVE their fried biscuits!
I was always a big Pope's Cafe Fan..it has changed a lot over the past few years. It isn't the same and actually hasn't been since the death of Mr and Mrs Pope and Mr and Mrs Sudberry. Mrs. Pope use to make the best pies I have ever had...
We love Midway Diner at our house! They have the best breakfast in town & lunch is meat & 2 with bread & tea for something like $5. It's also very good. They are only open til 2 and its out 231 in Deason but its worth the drive.
Ms. Betty,
You should also try Mrs. Mary Bobo's in Lynchburg. (You'll need a reservation.)
Dianatn, my grandmother is Vivian Pope, and she is still alive. We moved her to Murfreesboro in 2000 after my grandfather's death.
I am sorry I guess I assumed she must have passed away after they sold Pope's. I remember her being in Pope's Cafe when I was a child. She really did make the best pies in the world.
Do you know if Mr and Mrs Sudberry is still alive? I remember Mr Sudberry he was a hoot!
It really hasn't been the same since they left Pope's in fact Pope's is no longer open. I find that kinda sad it seems all my life there has always been a Pope's Cafe.
Sweet Aroma in Unionville is a nice place to eat as well!
