  • I believe well over 70% of computer owners (maybe 99.9%) feel your pain in trying to solve problems and "communicating" with phone support. Oh the stories we could tell.

I use Outlook Express which is somewhat different from Outlook. I am not sure what you meant when you said Outlook went away, but your current issue of being able to receive but not send sounds like an smtp issue. A what???

It is the outgoing mail server address. I just got through a challenge this week with one of my cohorts laptops. It could receive all day long but only send once in a while. All my computer gurus (none out of the country thank goodness) were stumped.

I finally resolved it, but for the life of me, I am not sure what I did differently than I have been trying for weeks.

Contact me by e-mail and we will try to get you going again.

    Steve

  • Betty, if you need help with anything, please feel free to e-mail me and I will try to help out. I don't guarantee anything except that I'll try to help...but I won't charge you anything either. I've been a tech for many years (even had my own business in FL). I'm currently not on the hardware side of things, so I don't get much of a chance to get my hands on the gear anymore (which I miss) except for working on my own machines at home. This offer is really open to any of the other bloggers as well. If your machine doesn't work, you can't blog...then people will wonder what happened to you.
