What a lovely spring we have had. I feel extremely fortunate that I was able to enjoy it for an extended time.
In March my husband and I spent 11 days in the Florida Panhandle as well as the Alabama and Mississippi Gulf Coasts. We left our home here on March 12. At the time we left, only the redbuds and early buttercups were in bloom. The flowers were so pretty a little farther south. Azaleas were in full bloom, as were other shrubs, trees and flowers. We saw dogwoods blooming a little farther north on our way home.
When we returned to Middle Tennessee we got to see and enjoy all of the spring beauties. I can't remember when I've seen it any prettier than it was this year.
I returned today from a trip to Omaha, Nebraska. The growing season in that area is behind ours, as they have more cold weather and a later blooming season. Some of the trees had been blooming already, and the lilacs are in full bloom. They have lilacs bushes up there that are much taller than ours.
I've been able to enjoy spring in three different zones this year, and I've enjoyed it, regardless of where I was.
