I have watched (heard is probably the correct word) far too many negative political ads on TV during this election campaign. The presidential candidates' ads are the worst. There have been many comments in these blogs about one or two local candidates slinging mud.
It dawned on me earlier today that there has been a clean campaign during this period. State Senator Jim Tracy of Shelbyville is seeking reelection. His ads have only been on TV in the last few weeks, but those ads are extremely positive. There has been no mention of inexperience on the part of his opponent. As far as I know, his opponent, Jean Ann Rogers of Murfreesboro, has not had any TV ads. Perhaps there is a lack of funding in her campaign; perhaps her advisors thought it would not be worthwhile.
I want to commend these two individuals and their staffs for running such clean campaigns. It is unusual today but very much appreciated.
