We returned home this afternoon after a 10-day trip. Tonight when my husband went to bed, he turned the TV to channel 904, just as he does every night if he goes to bed before me.
I went in the room and noticed his music was not on. The TV wasn't on at all. He told me that he turned it on 904, but the bluegrass music wasn't on. It wasn't that I didn't believe him, but I had to try it for myself. He was right. I went into the other room to check out that TV. Channel 904 now plays Hip Hop & R&B. I guess he didn't want to try to doze off listening to that.
I did the dreaded thing and called Charter. The barely English-speaking gentleman and I had a bit of difficulty communicating. He assured me that bluegrass music was on 904. I told him it was Hip Hop. I was listening to it, so that made me know more than he did. He had me go through about half a dozen of the channels, and every one of them was different from what he said. He sent me to some lower channels which were for music, but they were Mexicana and such. Then he instructed me to unplug the cable box. I couldn't believe that the first plug I touched was actually the right one.
Eventually he came back and told me that effective April 15, about 6 music channels were deleted from Charter's programming. That's my husband's favorite music, so I hate to tell him it's gone.
Did Charter make other changes at that time? We left town on April 12 and haven't picked up our mail yet. Perhaps they sent us a notice. We won't like it though.
