It is so beautiful today. Granted it's not 70, as it was one day last week, but it feels good out there. I've been walking in the yard in a pullover sweater with no jacket. That's good weather to me.
I checked on the flowering shrubs and trees. Most have tiny buds beginning to show. Then there's the Jane magnolia tree. It is covered with large buds, and at least a dozen or so are already open enough to show that deep pink color. You and I both know what is going to happen to those buds. The frost will kill them. I can remember one year when we were still in Nashville that we had snow flurries & some ice either the first or second weekend in April. We usually run out with old sheets and pillow cases to cover those plants during the late cold spells, but it won't work with that tree. It's not very big but too large to throw a sheet over it. I can always be optimistic and think that it won't get that cold again. Then again, I know better.
