Here's your chance to be a forecasterPosted Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at 3:43 PM
Do you ever get irritated with TV weather people over their forecasts?
I'll admit it. Sometimes, such as this summer and early fall with our lack of that much-needed rain, when they forecast one thing and the opposite happens I get a little annoyed. But then I'll stop and realize they are just doing their job. However, I must admit sometimes I think some of them hint at the possibility of what we want to hear rather than what all of the information and equipment at their disposal may indicate. Let's put ourselves on the hot spot! When do you predict we'll have our first frost? How about the next time Shelbyville and Bedford County will have enough snowfall for kids of all ages up to 100 to build a snowman? What about some unusual things you've done in the snow? 1st Frost will be November 6th (don't ask me why, it just came to me)
1st snow to build a snowman -Not this year I'm afraid
unusual things I've done in the snow:
Might not have been unusual but it sure was fun: We took the toilet seats off and slid down a hill on them..btw toilet seats are very hard to control on snow and ice :>)
I played football in the snow in our homecoming game, sometime in October,my senior year at Shelbyville.A few plays into the game we were all, both teams, in snowy white uniforms.I recall blocking a few people that night who turned out to be Golden Eagles.
