Only music for company

I suppose we've all driven for a three or four hour stretch and had no company along except the radio or CD player.
If you had to listen to just one recording artist or group for that entire drive, which would you choose? Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Johnny Cash!
There is only one that I listened to on my trips back and forth to Florida when I lived there and that was Garth Brooks
Sarah McLachlan
Cascada
Beatles
George Strait
Fleetwood Mac
Nicole C. Mullen
Ohhh, I love Fleetwood Mac. See, my indecisiveness and the way I get bored so easily is why I don't own a single cd!
Norah Jones
Casting crowns!
Laura, I don't own any now my kids took them to never never land. You can't beat Elton John either!
Leonard Cohen or Pulp.
I know that I would not get sick of either one since I listened to those cds when I drove from CT to Montreal alone one time and that's what I listened to - one on the way there, the other on the way home.
Linkin Park
Disgusted, you HAVE to love Elton....oh, and Queen, and Rod Stewart, and CCR! See, I'm very indecisive!
George Strait
Creed
It would depend on my mood.
(I'd really need a mix tape.)
My old standbys have been Linda Rondstadt,Sir Elton,The Eagles,Meat Loaf,Jim Croce,The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, the Chieftains,Johnny Cash,Patsy Cline and Michael Fierstein.
Nowadays,I couldn't have anything tooo rowdy or anything that would have me crying on the side of the road.
Hmmm...no tears,no road rage,nothing too monotonous,nothing that could act as a lullabye...
While I was moving,I'd probably pick a comedy album,a talking book or some lively radio drama.
(Prairie Home Companion,Johnny Dollar,Dimension X,Firesign Theatre ?)
I'd need to be entertained-not distracted from what was going on out on the road.
(O.K.,where'd I put Ray Stevens and that BBC 7 stuff?)
Allan Jackson -- who else ????
I'm with William on this one. Gotta be the man in black.....
I don't think I could listen to one group/artist for that long.
However, the bands 'Skillet' or 'Newsboys' would suffice.
Couldnt be just one, Id have to have Hank Jr., 3rd day, and Otis Redding to get me started.
Well..I do not believe I could listen to just one..so here I go....Joe Cocker..Beatles..Cat Stevens...Iron Butterfly...Jefferson Airplane..Dylan....Doobie Brother's...White Snake...Then I always go a Little Country..Brooks and Dunn...Johnny Cash..Willie . Wish I was on the road again...
I'd have The Moody Blues and The Foo Fighters. Weird combination, I know.

Jazz
If it had to be just one artist, it would have to be Elvis.
