Favorite seasons

Posted Thursday, April 3, 2008, at 10:47 PM

My favorite season of the year has always been fall.

There's just some about all the bright foliage as Mother Nature puts on a rare display before the Earth takes a well-deserved rest through the cold winter to awaken during the spring with those magnificent colors peeping through again that I always enjoy.

When I've been in places where there is little or no change in the season, I've missed those crisp nights and mornings, falling leaves and hint that frost is on the way.

What is your favorite season of the year? Why?

I don't care for the heat of summer nor the cold of winter. That leaves spring & fall. Now that I've retired I'm able to enjoy the spring more & find it is refreshing after being shut up during the winter months. However, I have always loved the fall with its beautiful leaves & slightly cooler, crisp air. I thought perhaps the fact that I was born that time of year might influence me.

Spring followed by Summer for me. I feel like everything wakes up and comes back to life in the Spring, gives me Spring fever! I love the heat also, I'd rather be hot than cold any day. I even like the humidity at night.

Fall is my favorite, especially in New England with all the leaves changing...but it's in a close tie with spring.

My choices as a gardener is Spring, then Fall, Summer and Winter last. Why do I still appreciate Winter? Because I have lived where the seasons fade in and fade out with no real definition and it got boring fast.

Winter helps me appreciate the others, temporary snow is fun and pretty and I get to look forward to Spring.

I love Fall...

It's nice to be able to get back outside after the scorching heat and the leaves are so pretty. We have 6 new trees to add to the 9 we have. I can't wait until they are big enough to be blazing with colors. The horses get frisky and love to go on long runs. Not to mention that my allergies seem to be in check:-)

I agree with Dianatn. Summer with spring a close second. I get depressed in the fall too with the short days. I too feel like everything is dying.

Pretty colors and changing leaves..it is like all the colors I love to draw with..Then Spring... The streams start to flow..the blades of grass start to wake..the leaves start to emerge..Springtime is renewed.

Fall is my favorite, followed by spring.

Those two months haven't the extreme temperatures of hot or cold, have beautiful plants in evidence and it's too "airish" for biting insects.

Now,if they could find a pleasant season without mold, mildew or pollen,we'd be set.

Oh the love the Fall Season, all the trees changing into those beautiful colors, the crisp evening winds, the nice temperatures. Fall is the best!

Oh this one is easy: Summer is my all time favorite time of year. The hotter the better, last year while everyone was complaining about the heat I was loving it.

Fall is really depressing to me with everything dying and knowing winter is just around the corner.
