What are your thoughts on Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice?
Her job is doubly difficult at this crucial time because she is a woman. It shouldn't be that way. Be that as it may many nations in the Middle East have treated women as inferiors far too long and, unfortunately, that still holds true for too many of them. How much does this hurt her job performance? I think she has another of those problems that shouldn't be that way, but once again, unfortunately, is that way. Loyalty. She's loyal to the president and has to be in her position. Intelligent? Yes. Effective? Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

She would give Hillary a run for her money. My only issue with her is Pres Bush. The loyalty and steadfastness makes her an asset, and she is far more intelligent than 90% of her peers.
To me she is very involved, "UNDER the finger of George Bush". And I believe she is being used for the dirty, sticky situations presented by Bush. (Dangerous) But then again, she might like it. I remember seeing her at some meeting on TV when a upset woman came up behind her with something (Blood? don't Know) on the womans hands. She told Condoleezza that the soldiers, or a soldiers blood was on her (Condeleezzas') hands now. (A protestant against the war) Of course the Security immediately grabbed the woman before she could touch her; But Condoleezza looked at the woman (As what ever) and turned her back to her as if (unshoocked) of the womans actions or comments. She's kind of bold like to me, and I somewhat don't trust her.
I don't think it hurts all that much in dealing with the the middle eastern countries. They know she carries the full weight and authority of the office no matter who she is. They also know she's probably the smartest person in the entire cabinet (including the executive offices) so I don't think they would try pull anything over on her. Besides the SOS before her was also a woman, Madeline Albright. As backward as they may seem to us, they understand how the world works even in the US.
I think as far as any future plans, she has no political aspirations. She has already said she doesn't want the VP slot for McCain. The only job she really wants is already taken, NFL commissioner. She'll probably head back to Stanford (or whatever school can afford her) and become a very well respected and well paid professor and general policy wonk.
I haven't trusted her since the Iran Contra hearings where she bold faced lied about illegal arms.
Oh wait she has been lying ever since too.
Ms. Rice is simply a puppet for the Bush administration. She has lied time and time again at the behest of the Bushites. She is basically incompetent as Sec. of State.
Madeline Albright would own Condoleezza Rice . . . even today!
I am huge fan of Condoleeza Rice. I vote for her for President in a minute. Bold, brash, sassy, smart, brave and classy where she holds her ground with the best of them, man or woman.
I always thought it was Madeline Notsobright.
