More annoying tv commercialsPosted Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at 4:16 PM
A few months ago I discussed annoying television commercials in this blog.
Commercials change, some get better and some I find more annoying than ever. I like a lot of things on Sonic's menu but I admit I am getting tired of the commercial of the passenger in the car going through the drive-thru who makes a lot of ridiculous comments. Those commercials about turning over the title to your car for a cash loan rank right up their with the worst. The actors carry on like they don't have a worry in the world when obviously they have a big problem. How do you feel about the commercial for an insurance firm that ignores past driving records and promises to make you legal? what about..."let's go camping, paw!"...absolutely ridiculously annoying!
and mike thompson dealership commercials here locally are horrible, and they keep going and going and going.
that's just a couple of the really bad ones.
i think the sonic commercials are funny, but yeah the title loan ones are pretty bad.
The beef jerky one with big foot are my favorites. I miss the Rent-a-car commercials the most.
I cannot stand the comercial where the woman goes up to the water dispenser and drinks out of the mans mouth. It makes me sick every time i see it.
Well we just got Basic Cable 3 weeks ago after 3 years without it...I am SHOCKED of all the beer ones on cable....My goodness there are alot !!!! I love the one with the Blood Hound Dog who takes his owner a bowl of ceral and the owner get's up and goes to work after eating and then they show the dog in the bed asleep....
I hate all the Capital One Commercials the Viking one is the worse though.
I detest the Sonic commercials now. They can bring back Frankie Avalon in the convertible.
I've never seen the water dispenser ad. Perhaps that's a good thing.
My favorite all-time commercial is the Budweiser commercial during the holiday season when the Clydesdales are pulling the sleigh down a snow-covered road. They start in the country & arrive at a more populated area just at dusk when the lights are coming on.
I hate to admit it, but I think the Sonic ads are great. I laugh every time. At least they are putting out new ones often. Better than seeing the same ad over and over...
I absolutely can't stand the "Don't you leave til you see me" guy!!!!
The music that goes with Outback Steakhouses bothers me immensely. "Let's go Outback tonight"......I am not sure if you all have Outback Steakhouses in middle Tennessee as we do here in Texas.

yeah the bigfoot commercials are great, my wife and i watched a documentary on these people hunting bigfoot a couple of months ago and the only commercials they showed during the whole thing were the beef jerky ones, it was great. there is a montage on u tube someone put the commercials together video style with the nazareth song "son of a b...h" it is hilarious.
As a Marketing major, and having studied a few different commercial ideas that work... I must say one of the MOST ANNOYING commercials, yet successful (from a Marketing aspect) were the "Head On" commercials... The saying, "Head On, applied directly to the forehead" (repeated 4 times) was obnoxious, but what did it do.. It created a slogan you couldn't get out of your head and they have since seen sales skyrocket, as a result.
On a side note, I can't stand any local auto dealer commercials other than Nissan of Cool Springs. They don't use mascots or annoyingly loud "auction style" speaking, but they get their point across more clear than those who choose the annoying message.
Bo, I don't like the Sonic commercials either… maybe it's an age thing… I'm a couple of years younger than you.
I also do not like the Captin'D's add where everybody gets slapped around by a fish tail.
Oh well, I'm quite sure that I'm not the target audience. Madison Ave. could care less about what I think about their commercials.
I hate the Captain D's ads too... But one thing is true, whether you liked it or not you remembered it. Which is the point.

I hate all ambulance chasing personal injury lawyer commercials... especially the non English speaking ones.
Well I actually like the Sonic commercials and I keep watching them in hopes that I will get to see the day, when one of the guys or the guy or girl starts to beat the crap out of the other.
My favorite commercial is the one for free credit report dot com. I like all of their commercials, but my favorite is the one where the guys are in the seafood shop.

I was at the park the other day and the skateboarders were taking a break on the pavilion. They started singing the "credit report .com" jingle from all three commercials -- I hurt myself laughing.

I've spent 11 years as an Insurance Adjuster, and 25 years a Body Shop Manager. Car commercials, what a bunch of Thugs.
Insurance Commercials to make past driving records legal? They ought to be prosecuted for "Bait & Switch" or Fraud. Not in my day.
Sonic Commercials- Mute button. You get a burger & fries at Sonic, I call it "A lube, oil, and filter".
Just look at the bottom of the bag. I steer clear of those lunches. When I watch TV, which is seldom, only for baseball, commercials get the mute button.
I can't stand the loudness & the ridiculous.
I bet a lot of the old Gentlemen enjoy th Viagra commercials. Does anybody agree???????????
