Bedford County's link to Olympics

Does it seem there is always a Shelbyville and Bedford County connection?

Even to the Olympic Games?

Charles (Chick) Parsons, a World War II hero and an extremely successful businessman was born in Shelbyville.

Prior to his death Parsons helped baseball become one of the games in the Olympics.

Even though there is one place where basketball rather than baseball is listed, this link tells some of the story.
