Improper clothingPosted Thursday, February 5, 2009, at 4:05 PM
Have you ever unintentionally gone out in public in horribly mismatched or lack of certain clothing.
I have one time. Thank goodness it was in Hong Kong. I was in the Navy at the time and anyone who was in Hong Kong at the time knows of the clothing bargins there. While trying on a gray with charcoal flecks cashmere sports coat and charcoal slacks for first fitting I remembered that about 50 yards down the street some shoes I had made were ready to pick up. We were wearing our white uniforms that summer. So, I walked down the street to get my shoes dressed in my new sports coat I had been trying on (it was a perfect fit), no top, my white shorts, white Navy hat and black boots. No one even seemed to notice until I arrived at the place where my shoes had been made. They really laughed. I put on my news shoes, then with boots in hand walked the 50 yards or so back to the tailor shop. I imagine the people on that teribly crowded street either wondered what Navy I was in or thought that American sailor sure is drunk. No, I wasn't. I have always been told at to dress (at work) for the position you want, not the position you have. I have found that more people take you serious when you dress more professional and nice.
I don't know when it became popular for members of both sexes to walk around in public with their underwear showing. (sagging) However it's one fashion trend that won't be missed when it's gone.
heavy set or skinny as a rail...what difference would that make if their clothes are too small?
i think what is horrid is when heavy set people wear low cut pants or a short skirt and a two sizes two small top. it leaves nothing to the imagination.
What I don't get are folks I see out in what looks like PJ's and slippers, last I knew that's what you wore to bed and not out in public.
For goodness sake, make these kids wear belts, pants are not supposed to button around the knees!
ha i see people wearing horrible clothing all the time. The women wearing these thin shirts that look like nighty's it amazes me. I do not want to see someone's underwear either.
I think children view their parents that way all the time
