Supply is my one word

Opec cuts production thus cutting supply thus driving the price up..

And all that just goes back to your one word- GREED

The gas companies have reduced amunt of crude refined in order to boost prices at the pump.

I do hope when the shift from heating oil is made in the spring it will change.

I do not mind paying extra for gas if profits are kept reasonable. I also don't mind paying if the profits are used for research into altrenative sources or for domestic drilling.

There are actually several factors at work. One is a prolonged repair cycle at the refineries throughout the country. They did this to reduce the stockpiles of refined gas (i.e. raise prices) plus may of them needed more repairs from recent hurricanes. Oil and gas prices are only loosely joined at the hip since there are commodity markets for each. Gas futures have been creeping up since we're coming up on the peak driving season. Oil has stayed low due to decreased worldwide demand and fears of the worsening recession.

Man, I REALLY need to watch something other than CNBC all the time.

Well, I'd tell you what I think, Bo, but I'd have my entry deleted for using profanity! I think the only thing that makes me more angry is TVA. My electric bill has gotten to the point of ridiculous! I got a bill for 544 dollars this month and over 100 dollars of it was for fuel and environmental charges!! Why am I being charged for fuel when it is cheaper than its been in 4 years on average. Why am I paying to clean up their mess in East Tennessee? Talking about making somebody mad enough to fight. If I could get my hands on the jerks running that company a fuel charge would be the least of his worries!!
