How about non-taxed property?Posted Monday, March 16, 2009, at 3:26 PM
We often see a list of people who have failed to pay property taxes for one reason or another in the T-G.
I've never been on that list, thank goodness. Do we have property owned by individuals in Shelbyville and Bedford County that isn't even on the tax roles? If so, shouldn't we have the right to see a list of such property and the owner(s)?. Would you like to see a list if such non-taxed property exists? Absolutely! My taxes continue to rise every year, so I'd like to know who is reaping the benefits.
Yes I would. It would be interesting to see a dollar figure attached to all the non-taxed properties, and who owns them. Some businesses were given substantial tax breaks to lure them to Bedford County, they should be in the mix as well, IMHO.
yes I would... but is it Public Record if they are not required to pay taxes?
