Your governments

In order, which government do you feel listens most carefully to the wishes of you in particular and the public in general? City, county, state or federal.

City, by a large margin!

The larger the government the more diluted your voice.

I think this is why the forefathers wanted to keep power away from a large centralized government.

Absolutely the city, they are your neighbors and have friends in their ear more often. And like mike said, the larger the govt the more diluted individuals become.

City and county elected officials are the most accessible followed by the state and last federal elected officials.

This county is by far more reachable then the city or federal government.

I well know how to reach the mayors of our county. I can reach Jim Tracy several ways, and even our reps in Washington, D.C. What I would like to know is how to truly get a letter or e-mail to the President of the United States of America. Is it a realistic thought, that through the security measures we have today, that I could get a message delivered to a place that reviews mail to the President?

Some of us are afraid to call on any part of our local Government. After last weeks termination of an employee for voicing her opinion about the school boards decision for the students to tuck in their shirts. Her opinion I believe is her right. It is a shame that by the end of the week it cost her her career. Maybe if she wasn't employed in a city based office, she could have gotten away with it. I am anxiuos to hear the whole story brought out into the public.
