Let's try kindness

Posted Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 2:46 PM

I've always thought American's greatest strength is the American people.

We're all tired of some of the ridiculous actions of our federal government squandering our tax dollars, giving huge amounts of money to save some businesses only to have them use large amounts of that money to give huge bonuses to the top dogs that got such businesses in trouble in the first place and leading us into bankruptcy.

Meanwhile the American people are angry and hurt to the extent we're being harsh and unkind to one another.

We can see it in our own blogs and responses to blogs and new stories.

Shouldn't be use ballots rather than verbal bullets fired at one another?

I like the verbal bullets better

One time in our country, people were more tolerant of others, simply because information on the actions of others was slow in reaching them. We therefore were basically in the dark as to what was really happening which resulted in a sort of indifference as "everything" was for the most part hearsay.

I, for one, was extremely embarrassed that an ex-President of the U. S. A. would throw the "race card" into a debate of mis-conduct by a Senator.

Truly must have really thrilled the local Democrats of Georgia.

Truth hurts in some cases, but, to be tolerant is in-excusable. Accountability, however, should be based on truth not on opinions. I hate verbal bullets, but, realize it is an expression of disgust and anger. None of us are free from the use of them, when expressing ourselves in anger.

I agree with you. Everyone getting mad at everyone else is not going to solve our problems.

We did use ballots, but us (sore)losers are the ones firing the verbal bullets.

I'd say, morality has taken a turn for the worst, again.
