The full moonPosted Saturday, December 26, 2009, at 3:29 PM
I've seen the full moon discussed in scienfic terms and otherwise.
While talking with a couple of veteran law emforcement officers earlier today I asked them their thoughts on the subject. They both agreed people do strange things when we have a full moon. I've often heard law enforcement people voice their concern as time for a full moon draws near. We have a full moon coming up on New Year's Eve. What are your thoughts on a full moon and the effect it has on people? Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

My mom worked the ER for years in a Large city. She would come home and tell tales of what went on that weekend. The Full moon weekends were alway exhausting and wild. Gang fights, murders, weird accidents and other wild oddities..
I grow longer claws and have to push the cats aside to use the scratchy post.
I know my dogs (all 4 of them) bark nonstop all night and into the early hours of the morning on near-full moon and full moon nights. Of course, they never really shut up anyway, but it seems they're worse then. Brings out the wolf genes in them!
I have noticed in the summer months that I do feel somewhat wilder during a full moon.
And I happen to be one of the lucky ones working in medicine on New Years Eve :)
It isn't just a full moon, it is a rare Blue Full moon.
I am really, really, really glad I'm not working New Year's Eve.....during a full moon. If you work in medicine, there are very few combinations that just make you want to crawl under a rock and wait it out. That's one of the worst. Yes Bo, people do very strange things during a full moon.
All time worst, July 4th during a full moon....sheeesh
T&S,
Might you be one of those crazy people that manages to get admitted to a hospital during a full moon?
I fully believe that the most crazy folks show up at the hospital during a full moon, plus more babies are born during a full moon.
I don't know about anybody else, but I grow a set of fangs and a thick coat of fur whenever there's a full moon. My eyes turn blood red and my breath stinks. I also have a tendency to hang out in graveyards and develop a strong craving for raw meat and small animals. During the last full moon I nearly fainted while in the meat department at Krogers. These symptoms usually dissipate in a couple of days even though I have to fight off the urge to start howling whenever I hear dogs barking.
Happy New Year Bo!
