This is for NASCAR fans.
How many of you remember a female driver named Janet Guthrie? I'm taking nothing away from Danica Patrick. She's driven well in Indy cars and will learn to handle stock cars. Guthrie didn't have the success of Patrick in Indy cars, but she started directly at NASCAR's top level and made some impressive runs. I believe her best finish was either a fourth or fifth at Charlotte. Guthrie quickly gained the respect of the top male drivers at that time. She could drive with them and knew how to use the draft. Yes, I remember Janet Guthrie. She was probably one of the best ladies to try and make it in NASCAR along with Louise Smith and a few others. The jury is still out on Danica Patrick. If in the future she races at Dover Downs, her power steering goes out, and she still finishes in the top 5, I will concede that she will make it.

redddj, Thanks for the link. I can get carried away on that site. Thanks for the photos. I really enjoyed seeing people like Hart Hastings, Brooks Tune, George Tune, Freddie Fryar, Harold Fryar, Charlie Griffith, Friday Hassler, Eddie Mitchell, Bob Reuther, Coo Coo Marlin, P.B. Crowell, Joe Lee Johnson, and many, many more of both modern day, and some years ago. By the way I have only covered the first 75 pages or so. I am sure there is much more to see.
