Should parents pay for vandalism?

Posted Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at 3:08 PM

Who should pay for and be reponsible for totally irresponsible acts of vandalism by juveniles?

How many problems are caused by people who have children, refuse to become parents and feel the taxpayers should be responsible for raising their children?

yes. I had a child commit such acts and I paid for them. I then in turn disciplined my child (read this as spanked, grounded, chewed out and put into forced labor) While I could not necessarily afford the costs it was not fair that others suffered because of my child's actions.

Yes the child and the parents should pay. If the child is under age the mother and father should know were their child is at and what they are doing. If the child does wrong then he or she should pay and the mom and dad too. Then the child will learn something and so will mom and dad. I hope they will keep up with their child or learn to keep putting out money for what wrong their child has done.

Yes the parents should pay/or if the child is old enough to work he/she needs to work out the debt with labor.
