Brackets, bucks and brainsPosted Monday, March 15, 2010, at 2:28 PM
Each year at this time after the Men's NCAA Basketball Tournament brackets are announced the same question crosses my mind.
Why? As usual, it only took a quick peek at Vanderbilt and Murray State playing an opening game in San Jose and Tennesee meeting San Diego in Providence in an opening contest and that same old question was back. I understand the teams and their conferences receive big bucks for each game played in the tournament, but what about the fans who have supported the teams all season with regular pockets rather than deep pockets and/or connections to even buy a ticket? Perhaps that's why they call it March Madness. |
