Two Sides Of The Border

Posted Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at 3:09 PM

I'm tired of numerous groups supporting Latino, Hispanic or whatever groups going to Nashville television stations and making outragous accusations against Shelbyville and Bedford County law enforcement officials.

I have never seen one instance of targeting these groups.

One thing I must say about a few members of the groups allegedly being targeted. They have some great sprinters and there is solid proof to support my comment.

They should be called the Wreck and Run Society because they wreck motor vehicles and dash away on foot leaving other vehicles they have struck and often critically injured people.

There is one solution to this matter for those who think we are such bad people in Shelbyville and Bedford County.

The last time I checked the border had two sides. Should they go back to the other side?

CNN reports the ICE officials have arrested 2900 illegal convicted aliens over a 7-day period nationwide. in an operation called "Cross Check" Of the 1901- 42 were gang members and 151 convicted sex- offenders. 681 are immigration fugitives previously ordered to leave the country and many were earlier deported then returned.

The population of the world is approx. 7 billion and the US population approx. 300 million. 6 billion and 700 million undocumented Americans live in the world. If we can just welcome to America the remaining undocumented Americans still living across our borders, the illegal alien problem will be solved. The world population will be here in American, stacked up 12 high, shoulder to shoulder, and living the American nightmare.

If they are that scared please let them feel free to move. I am sick to death of our tax dollars going to support them. If they didn't get all of the benefits when they crossed the border they wouldn't be in such a hurry to get here in the first place!

The only reason any person should fear law enforcement is if they are doing something illegal.

I have never seen a road block inside the City Limits of Shelbyville.

It will take time for people to get used to the by pass being there. I remember when they first open 840 by Franklin it seemed like forever before there was traffic. I worked nights up that way and was afraid to use it because it seemed so isolated. Now it's just like any other highway.

We took it for the first time the other night, when they finish it going north, where is that end going to come out on 41A ?

Speaking of Shelbyville and Beford County, I see very few cars and trucks using the new Bypass created by the Stimulus Package.

The most Traffic is still only using Main Street.

That was a lot of money for commercial use.

King Obama has blocked the deportation of Illegal aliens.

His has said illegal aliens who were criminals would be deported and not get amnesty.

If a Mexican comes into this country illegally, that makes him a criminal... he done something illegal! Crossing the border into the United States illegally is a CRIME the last time I heard.

That book can be closed now.

It is all about Public Chapter 1112. Many of us supported it's passage and now starting to see it being enforced. Thanks to our Tn. lawmakers and Local Law Enforcement. It is way overdue! Time to reclaim our COUNTRY!!

I have not done a line by line comparison of laws between Mexico and the U.S.or personal freedoms, but from the little I have seen, I would not want to be caught there violating the law, especially as an alien.

Why not enforce OUR laws on OUR citizens and THEIR laws on THEM? Maybe that way we Americans would see how fair our laws are in comparison.

Over here you might get deported, while over there you might just disappear or rot in jail without a trial.

prplehaze, When they wreck and run it is probably because they do not have a driver's license. I was rear ended a few years ago in Dallas and the hispanic did not run, but kept telling me he had identification. When the police arrived the identification was just that, not a driver's licence. Of course, he had no insurance either. The identification looked exactly like a driver's license.

Also, referring to the police blotter (or jail intake) make note of how many of those with an Hispanic name are cited with NO drivers license. Most of them are fined roughly $250. I have a brother that got fined (in another county) $3,500 for driving without a license and no insurance. If someone is not going to get a valid driver's license, they sure aren't going to bother with insurance!

Union. you mentioned the blotter, if you go back before they made it mandatory to check all people who are arrested for citizenship and report those who can not show proof that the number of Hispanics listed have almost disappeared. The numbers of others has not gone down though. They seem to have stopped arresting Hispanics, and my question is WHY? We know the crimes have not gone down. But I have also noticed that around the same time, places like McDonald's and Burger King's Hispanic employees seems to have dropped dramatically ( not that their employees committed the crimes) could it be that that the new requirements caused a lot of them to leave the area? Or perhaps have they just stopped arresting them because of the new requirements and the complications of checking, reporting and dealing with the legal status of those who are illegal?

When you look at todays police blotter... 7 arrested and only one Hispanic... is that profiling? I guess if you are an illegal immigrant you don't feel like the law needs to apply to you. Do they think the US owes them a better life because they came across the border illegally?

I got pulled over in Shelbyville and I do have a Hispanic sounding name. I had a tail light out. I even got asked for a drivers license and proof of insurance. Imagine that! Do I think I was profiled? No, but I did have a tail light out and I did NOT go to jail... I did get a warning ticket...(oh thank you officer DAVIS..)

If the illegal population will OBEY the laws, maybe they will not feel profiled. (yes sir, I got that tail light fixed!)

I am so tired of hearing about "violating the illegal immigrant's rights." The last time that I checked, our rights that are governed by the Constitution is for "Citizens of the United States". Illegal aliens are NOT citizens. They are terrorist, free-loaders, thieves, and murderers. I am not accusing ALL of illegals of being crime driven, but if they are wanting to come here to better themselves or to provide a better living environment for their family, there is a legal way of doing it.

As for profiling, I haven't seen nor heard of any. Especially "roadblocks in front of hispanic companies". Does this really even happen?

I think a few people have been smoking something to come up stories like the roadblocks and profiling.

As for the wrecking and running - we can thank the TN government for allowing these idiots license to drive. Even though they cannot read the signs in English or understand the rules of the road.

I agree, I have not seen nor heard anything from the Hispanics that I know of being profiled by the police, nor being harassed. As far as the boarder having two sides, one side seems open while the other side seems to be guarded by ruthless armed thugs that are hell bent on killing every living thing in their site, with weapons supplied by the ATF, that the Justice Department and the OBAMA administration knew nothing about. Wink, Wink Nudge, Nudge.

Absolutely. We should model our penalties for illegal entry after Mexico's as well.
