What Have You Learned From Primaries?Posted Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at 2:58 PM
What, if anything, have you learned from all the primary elections, including Super Tuesday?
I don't like playing the role of a pessimist, but two things pop into my little mind and only leave me confused. First, half-truths are the same as half-lies and we've heard and seen hundreds of these over and over again. Even more disturbing to me is the second thing and that pertains to the claims politicians from both parties are making about war and the economy. These remarks only make me wonder if we're about to let a handful of political hopefuls sacrifice America's future just to get elected in 2012. I wish they all would take a long look at how thin our military is already spread before wanting to take part in yet another war. What are your thoughts? Bo, when I was younger (much younger) I was active in political campaigns but from those experiences I eventaully mellowed to work with what is offered.
When the nominees are finally established, I will choose the lesser evil and see what happens. I know, not too exciting, but the years have taken their toll on me.
As far as primaries or full-fledged campaigns, I become very cynical about what is said and promises made, but the one thing that turns me off most is mudslinging.
I want to hear what their vision is, not how bad the other one is, so the chief mud-slinger in this, DID NOT get my vote.
AMEN Steve! Ditto. I think the mudslinging and personal attacks are too much. It just makes them look like spiteful children fighting on the playground.
I agree knitwit6819. However, I do believe all of them are adult spiteful childish spoiled brats, screaming "look at me! look at me!".
I have learned all the stations that carry old 60s and 70s reruns! I am "escaping" during the primary craziness!
